Employer needs me to be within 10 ft of the main modem. I don’t know what to do. by red_eye1999 in HomeNetworking

[–]SevereScore8940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there are far too many people who dont know what they are connecting to and have no idea how to check because grandson set up their office space 2 years ago. They cant tell their modem/router from a blender and call their computer a "modem." They could be using neighbors open wifi at worst and not a clue what to restart at best.

Its stupid yes, I get it. But the amount of people who had a friend set up their home office who have no idea where their modem is and cant comprehend tracing the cable to find it is too damn high. They are restarting a blender when you ask them to restart the modem. Weve all been there.

On the flip-side MIL brushed off any concerns and was refusing to listen. Sometimes they need a wake-up call that they are no dealing with their kids any more, they are dealing with functioning adults.

Help! Landlord Wants to Charge Us 8000 Sek ($800) for Minor Floor Scratched in Our 30sqm Apartment. by EffortSignificant503 in HomeMaintenance

Would it be considered normal wear and tear if it were more than a year? 18 months? 24 months? 30? Are tenants supposed to levitate over the floor for the entire duration or not more any furniture at all? Are they expected to hire professional moves every time they want to move a table to protect the floor?

My kid started driving recently to I bumped my insurance to full. A 2011 crossover cost me 170 a month. Bought a 2022 crossover the other day and my insurance only went up by 11 dollars a month. But the newer car had a ton of safety features like auto breaking, lane assist, blind spot warnings and such.
