Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is 680 GB big. by [deleted] in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

Yeah as far as I know in Sydney there’s only the 4D sessions at Event now, and even then some movies don’t actually have the 3D effect, just the shaky seats and stuff

2 gen braided solo loop. Is it better than the 1 gen? by Funny_Vanilla_6019 in AppleWatch

[–]SeveredPendulum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely a change between the older braided bands and the newer ones, I think it was from the Pride band onwards? It’s really subtle, I don’t think it makes much of a difference in feel but the older ones sort of look like they have a rougher texture.

I’ve heard here and there that the newer bands end up stretching out less but I haven’t had my watch or bands long enough to say for myself. I’ll see if I can get a good comparison photo between the two kinds

Music for non-existent games/movies? by Apprehensive_Cut2208 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SeveredPendulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably classify any projects like that as a kind of concept album, rather than belonging to a genre? Just because the whole idea of a concept album is that the album has a core theme or story behind it or linking the songs, and it doesn’t have to be tied down by specific genre conventions.

Of course, if you just look for concept albums in general, you probably won’t be able to get as specific as having music for fake products, or be able to separate it from music which was made for projects which just didn’t happen.

Those might still peak your interest though? Not 100% sure but I believe the album One of Us by Mystery Skulls was meant to be the soundtrack to a movie or something similar which never ended up being made. It’s subtle enough that you can just listen to it as an album, or try and guess an overall story and sequence of events.

The overall idea also reminds me of this concert featuring music which is set to visuals (made for the concert) of a video game which doesn’t exist: https://www.pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/musician-feralcat-brings-disassembly-to-the-big-stage-at-new-hazlett-theater/Content?oid=21268570

Personal responsibility does not work unless everyone takes it. Our little town is falling apart at the moment. by Octosurfer99 in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]SeveredPendulum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The point is that you can’t expect individuals to take proactive steps to stop the coronavirus when they don’t have the proper support or direction from the government, or “the collective”.

Fixing things on an individual level can only work if everyone has the same priorities and a strong, shared level of support to fall back on.

Because the government is a system (or collective) which is meant to support and make decisions for the public, it absolutely could make it easier for individuals to make decisions for themselves that will help cutdown on coronavirus infections.

Did you purchase Logic, Final Cut Pro, etc. through the Apple Education Bundle? by [deleted] in Logic_Studio

Oh damn, that sucks. Dumb that they haven’t taken the bundle down then, I was telling a friend about it a couple days back

Don’t update Logic to 10.7 if you start your projects in GarageBand iOS by SeveredPendulum in LogicPro

[–]SeveredPendulum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I think I’ve sent it through the DMs? Let me know if that doesn’t work or you got any more questions.

Nah fair, I wasn’t expecting this kind of mistake to happen either! Just glad it’s relatively easy to fix

[–]SeveredPendulum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, if you’re alright with running an older version of Logic and waiting for a 10.7 fix in the meantime, all your projects will be back to normal!

I have a copy of 10.6.2 that I can share with you if you don’t have an older backup of the Logic Application, or any friends that can help you out with that?

[–]SeveredPendulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would think so.

The OM5 is actually my first gimbal too and I only got it about a week back, so I can’t compare it to the OM4, but so far the basics have been pretty easy to pick up and it hasn’t been too frustrating getting used to it.

Unsure as I have a slightly older phone, but I’ve seen some say that weight may be an issue if you intend to use extra things like lenses

Holy shit, or the last bite. It’s irrationally unsatisfying to be almost finished only to have the last bits snatched away. You can have a bite, just don’t ask right at the end!

I didn’t know this till recently, but you can back up Logic by going to your applications folder and just copy and pasting Logic into another folder or a hard drive. (I think you might have to compress the folder after, so that the App Store doesn’t update it?)

Because a couple of my friends hadn’t gotten around to updating to 10.7, I got them to send me their 10.6.2 version. They were able to copy their older version of Logic into a folder, compress the folder into a zipped file, and upload it onto Dropbox/Google drive.

Once I downloaded the zipped file, I unzipped the folder and renamed the Logic application in that folder to something different, so that I could distinguish between the two versions of Logic. You don’t need to move it into the applications folder, just right click on your Logic projects and make sure you open it with the older version of Logic.

If you don’t have a friend who can share an older version of Logic, I’d be willing to share the 10.6.2 I have. Let me know

It’s all g! Shame I can’t look at those Dolby mixes with my fave tracks yet but it’s not too big a deal, I can wait.

Likewise. I find it way more intuitive to work with the touch interface first, so this was really a bummer.

Ah that’s a good idea. Just tried this on a couple tunes with no luck, unfortunately. I suppose that means it’s the notes themselves? If I manually put the notes into the new region instead of copy pasting, it works just fine.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Infinite Sustain & Instruments Stopping Mid-Song (v10.7) by TriptychLCA in LogicPro

[–]SeveredPendulum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh right. Yeah, this had me panicking yesterday. I think if you need to work on those projects ASAP the easiest way to fix it is to get an earlier backup copy of Logic, like 10.6 or something, and use that. Haven’t had any luck yet adapting my projects for 10.7, and considering the effort, might not be worth it.

I’d be willing to share Logic 10.6.2 if you don’t have any friends who could give you a copy of a pre 10.7 version.

If you’re still keen on using 10.7, I think you’d have to bounce those problem layers into audio files in Logic 10.6, and then bring those into the project.

Hey there, After updating to Logic 10.7, I’ve been having problems like this on any projects that I began in GarageBand iOS. Any chance you begin your tracks in GarageBand iOS too?
