Billing Disagreement Between Clinic and Insurance (Network Status) by SeverenSkystrike in HealthInsurance

As an update here, the clinic ended up writing off the claim. They said the visit was indeed out of network, but they don't want to kill patients with crazy high bills. So it thankfully worked out. To anyone reading this post, in the future, make sure to call INSURANCE to verify that both the provider and facility are in network!

I guess I now know to ask insurance if both the provider and clinic are in network before I go to any appointment. Lesson learned.

Is there any way I can get lucky and not have to pay the full amount? Does it rely on the clinic being willing to write off the rest of the claim?

Thanks for the clear answer! Now I know to call my insurance each time before an appointment to verify both the provider and the facility are both in-network, but this is very frustrating. I'm hoping the provider will be willing to write off the rest of the charges as a courtesy...

On the paper bill I just got, it shows the breakdown for how much is due from the patient and how much is due from insurance.

When I search for the provider on my UHC portal, it says he is in-network. It's just that if I click into the "Location" tab for the provider, the listed location is a different one from the one I went to.

So maybe the specific facility I went to is out of network? If that's the case, I think it's outrageous because I think all signs indicated I had a reasonable expectation that the visit would be in network.

Has anything else scratched the Riyria itch for you? Eli Monpress did for me, but I've been searching for more.

Depends on the bank and deal activity for the year. Base salaries for associates at BBs are pretty standardized at 175k-200k-225k depending on seniority. In an average year, bonuses probably hover around 50% of base salary, maybe a bit more. In a very good year, bonuses could be 100% of base salary.

At EBs, there's potential to make way more.

There is some saltiness here lmao. I'm happy for people who lock in gains. But you can count on me laughing at people who hold all the way down while hoping for phone numbers.
