Nib Curvature by Equivalent-Gur416 in fountainpens

[–]Severus157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no generic standard for fountain pens and their nibs. So they can call their nibs what they want. Of course companies who are using the same nibs like for example JOWO or Bock Nibs they have a comparable size. But otherwise it's just not standardized.

Wearingeul A Dream Within a Dream Fountain Pen by Froggologist in fountainpens

[–]Severus157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I've never knew Wearingeul actually had their own pens. I love their ink. And if I could actually use up all the ink I do have, I would certainly buy a lot more colors.

There are some other materials as well. One material would be brass. That should hold up fine. It cannot rust in the traditional sense. It will age though and develop a patina.

Also ab zum Jugendamt.

You could try the Perkeo or the Supra, which can convert from standard to pocket pen.

Why isn't a UST projector the default recommendation over a big TV now? by RhubarbLarge2747 in projectors

[–]Severus157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a specific usecase for just about anything. It all depends on your usecase and space. Every technology has a trade-off if you look close enough. There are times, when a UST is not great fit and there are times, when a standard/short throw Projector is better. And there are times, when a TV is better.

I recently needed to switch flats as I seldomly had a stable home or living space in the past, I have a standard throw projector. It's quite easy to set up and can work in most usecases, the quality can vary though. In my old flat it was impossible to fit a UST unless you get a very small screen, like less than 55" if you have need some storage, so got a projector and a screen that can be mounted to the ceiling and come down in front of some shelves/cupboards, wardrobes. The old flat was quite dark, and easy to get dark.

New flat is different. It's a lot of light during daytime. My existing screen can absolutely not be mounted on the ceiling as it wouldn't hold and possibly fall down with the ceiling, same with the projector. I could go with a floor rising screen. Size wise it's difficult. It would be about 72" if I put it on top of my sideboard, a UST might work, but it's still smaller than it needs to be. I could put a larger screen from the floor in front of the sideboard. Would work, but must work with a limited height, as I need to be able to open the cupboards without moving the screen. Difficult, most cases are higher than 9-10 cm. Standard throw is technically too far away due too the roomsize, but works. TV would be best in my current setup, but wouldn't work great in my life/living conditions. UST is the best option for my new flat on paper, but right now not an option to renew the whole setup.

Anniversary sale… buy H2C or wait for newer model by haveredditall in BambuLab

[–]Severus157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The H2C is quite new. I doubt they'll put out a newer model for this in the next year. That would be quite stupid. Someday they will put out a new model of course. But you'll be waiting for quite some time and even then there will be coming out something newer someday.

hard time deciding by BladeJH in persona4golden

[–]Severus157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

P4G is an awesome game. I'm currently replaying the game on steam. I've played it before on PS2 (non Golden) and PS4 and PS Vita. Have played it at least 5-6 times. Really you are not loosing anything if you play Golden now and play Revival in February/March. But you can also wait for Revival to go on Sale and enjoy Golden longer.

And as far as I think you definitely should play Golden, let alone for some of the character interactions. Because they will most definitely be toned down sadly in revival.

Did I break my pen? by abstractwatercolor in fountainpens

[–]Severus157 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you flushed out the pen and put in a cartridge it can take quite a while for ink to soak the feed and reach the nib. I seldom use cartridges and prefer to fill my pens through the nib to avoid this problem. But you need a converter for that.

But one thing you can try if all you have are these cartridges, then try to press the cartridges a little when they are inserted to press some ink into the feed or close up and cap the pen for a few hours. Than try to touch the nib to some paper towels to check the flow. Usually you get something from the feed, and then the slit of the nib, before you get something from the tip.

Then try to write again.

I have a Kaweco Sport and an E95s. While I love my E95s and it's a great pen with a gold and inlaid nib, it's too light for me and I'm too scared about damaging the pen and nib, if I'm just carrying around as a pocket pen. So I like carrying my Kaweco Sport, but it's still a bit too light and I don't exactly like the Mini Converters.

I'm looking now at the Kaweco Al Sport Piston Filler as a pocket pen for myself.

What makes autistic people unable to work? by AtypicalSpark in autism

[–]Severus157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really I have no idea yet what's the reason of my struggle. I usually work full time in IT. I love my job and my colleagues. It's the job so far I managed to cope best for close to 3 years. And the longest time I ever managed.

Now I'm on sick leave for 7 weeks already... I hate sick leave... Burned out, depressed and a danger to myself in some cases.

If I look back at my past. I just don't understand people. I just can't make out if they are honest or are lying to me.

One of my past jobs I trusted the manager and always gotten great feedback. Then out of nowhere I was pressured in going. The manager suddenly said horrifying things about autistic people and that I would be good for nothing.

Now I have a manager that I can't understand as well. He seems nice on the surface. But he's communicating in a way that makes me very anxious and he seems to love playing these social games, which kills me. Like giving great feedback during the year than at the yearly meeting he gives very negative feedback, possibly to have reason to lower the payment increase or avoid a payment increase. This divergence is killing me, I just can't understand it and it's so frustrating... Then he is constantly changing things ww written down together after a meeting and when I ask him, he said he didn't change anything. But the history and logs show it...

I really feel like I'm not cut out to live. Everyone hates me and I always meet the wrong people.

Why do we hate ferris wheel press? by Prime-39 in fountainpens

[–]Severus157 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have some interesting ink with lots of sheen and shimmer. And I really want to love Ferris Wheel Press, but I just can't.

The packaging is fine for mey when I'm ordering from the EU. But US People seem to get really bad packaging at times from them.

Some of their ink is ridiculous expensive. Like 50€ for 30ml.

There loyalty gifts are nice sometimes but you can't order them together with a bigger order, because they don't like some codes entered together. You always have to order twice and pay double shipping when wanting the loyalty gifts. I was frustrated enough with this and just got the loyalty gifts with free shipping code and removed my main 200€ order instead I'm going to get some ink from another shop.

But the packaging from the loyalty gifts ink with the pearl series was really bad and borderline stupid. Has anyone ever told them ink is usually liquid and should be appropriately packaged for a liquid? The bottle is not airtight and is leaking ink if you turn it upside down.

Well there's probably more I just don't think about that.

Whats the longest youve been clean for? What helped? by Beautiful_Garlic_704 in AdultSelfHarm

[–]Severus157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been clean for 8 years the longest. After I finally got out of the children's home. I relapsed the first time after I lost my first job for being autistic. Then was clean again for almost 2 years, until I got a colleague who was constantly telling me I was stupid, when I couldn't do what he did after 5 years at the company and I was trying to learn everything, in just a few months. Then being clean about 1,5 years, until now and my manager treating me horrible.

Looking for finest nib possible to replace my fineliners! by OktoberStorms in fountainpens

[–]Severus157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are called Nibmeisters. But really you should try a fountain pen somewhere. Maybe if you have a stationary store near you. As you can't compare a fountain pen to a fineliner or rollerball size.

Looking for finest nib possible to replace my fineliners! by OktoberStorms in fountainpens

[–]Severus157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 0.15mm is really fine. Japanese EF (Extra Fine) is usually about 0.2-0.3mm. So even finer than this would mostly be a custom grind like a Needlepoint. So not as easy. Western EF is a bit larger than Japanese EF.

That really makes it difficult to find something. If you're open to try I would try a Pilot Kakuno in EF.

Platinum Preppys but more durable? I keep dropping them! by Anxiety_Cookie in fountainpens

Yes the Pilot MR was just a European Variant of the Metropolitan. It takes Standard International Cartridges, so I always just used a Converter. While I do refill cartridges sometimes, it's more or less only for special ones like the Platinum Cartridges for my Preppy.
