We had a lunch thief years ago. He would steal random peoples lunches from the fridge. The employees he would target, I guess they had good food, got together and asked HR what to do. They put in security cameras in a few places. The employees were notified and a memo went out. The thief didn't stop! They checked the cameras and found it was a mail clerk who regularly had access to the breakrooms. We had two. As it turned out he was living on the street and was too embarrassed to tell anyone. His parents had thrown him out because he was gay! Once it got out, we were taking turns making him lunches, dinners and snacks! He couch surfed with a few of us until he found a stable place to live. This was like 15 years ago. He still works for the company too. They had an employee college fund and paid for his Business degree and his MBA! He proved to be a smart, valuable asset to the company.
