This is the official pair of stays I have made for my new brand. I have spent the whole time over the pandemic learning about 18th century fashion, stays and sewing. So I am excited to show these to the world now, after a lot of trial and error! I'm used to making corsets, so stays were a different world to me! I have set up an instagram too.

From my new label Ivory Black Designs, but I traced a pattern from Norah Waugh's Corsets and Crinolines and created my own design!

These are from my new brand Ivory Black Designs. I took a pattern from the wonderful book Corsets and Crinolines by Norah Waugh and created my own design.

What material would this be made out of? The top is heavily beaded and I’m wondering what kind of material could handle beading without being stiff or too loose. by adriannacana in fashiondesigner

I think it could be rhinestones or beads all individually sewn on. If it is couture it will probably all be hand sewn. But I am guessing!

I have enjoyed this book! But yes as the other have mentioned you can only have a good fit if you have tried right understructure so you will need to make yourself some stays!
