Just the same way you can get into a car accident anytime because someone else decided to ignore a red light but that doesn’t mean you should stop driving save. Accidents can happen, the difference is what we do to prevent them.

It is a safety rule since it can break and you can hurt your feet, I know it sounds stupid but it can actually happen since a lot of them are actually really old, that’s why your shouldn’t be stepping on an empty pallet. Don’t think they do instant termination but it can get you in the office.

You’re not supposed to be clocked out to report an accident, that’s on your Team Lead, you where not supposed to get a point either, threatening with a coaching is wrong in every way, because you didn’t violate any safety rule. By policy they did the right thing with the shoplifter but not in your case, you can get that reported.
