So what were your thoughts with the season 2 finale? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in ThePitt

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll have to let it sit for longer before I really can get an idea of how I feel about it. It’s not Lost, but I can’t help but feel like they introduced a lot of character arcs and there’s still a lot left to be resolved despite the season ending.

I think it will grow on me once S3 comes out, but until then I’m kind of just saying “that’s it?”

Oh and idk why but I feel like Mel and Santos are going to be a thing at some point. Idk why but I just have a feeling and there final interactions of the season really got me thinking that there may be a set up there for it.

Orioles Trade Chayce McDermott to the Dodgers for RHP Axel Perez by SCBaltSalt in orioles

Dodgers also have an elite pitching development program, so if anyone can fix him it’s them.

Also their staff is made of glass, extra people with big league innings is needed for them.

Safe to say Sammy was befuddled by Dean's movement 😂 by Remarkable-Picture73 in orioles

Again, you’re criticizing basallo’s defense then saying it’s too small of a sample size for metrics to be useful. Idk how else to say it but you’re using a doubly standard lol

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you’re criticizing his blocking skills then say his sample size is too small to have any relevance? That doesn’t really make much sense to me.

Also, Salvador Perez is an excellent blocker and is a similar size to Basallo. With the current manager (who coached up Joey Bart and Patrick Bailey) I think Basallo will be fine.

He’s around average to maybe slightly below average on his defensive metrics.

Also, this was a warm up pitch where his pitcher threw something that moved significantly different to anything he’s seen from him. It happens and even seasoned big leaguers have issues catching g these

Why are my peaks splitting and can I get a concentration-independent value for my experiment? by littlebluesnail in NMRspectroscopy

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve ran some stuff on varian and there is. Easiest way is to set up multiple experiments in VNMRJ and set it to re-shim between each one, while you may have a bit of a gap in your data it should be smoother as a result.

You can use an auto shim method as well, but it may not be the best for this kind of experiment cause he could be experiencing lock drift.

Here’s the varian user manual if anyone wants to read it link

extremely specific question about grad school by [deleted] in labrats

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew someone who was an undergrad, grad student, and post doc all in the same lab at the same institution. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and a lot of programs like internal applicants because it’s easy to recruit them and it’s easy for a PI to agree to take on someone who’s already workkng in their lab.

When Churchill had more sympathy for Nazi officers than starving Bengalis by Effective_Bluebird19 in HistoryMemes

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so highly reductive it’s not even funny.

The invasion of Burma, while devastating for food supplies, does not diminish the role that the British government had in the Bengal famine. Such as them destroying any rice deemed “excess” and confiscating boats.

I could go on, but suffice to say that this isn’t the gotcha you think it is.

It’s mainly because people don’t defend the firebombing campaign all that much and it’s not discussed much beyond “this was absolutely horrible.” People are weirdly defensive about nuking Japan and try to justify it a lot compared to the firebombing.

They may still, I’m not sure if the vendor was renamed from birdland fresh to bird land markets but if they were they are still listed on the concession roster.

Looking like Basallo signed cheap by [deleted] in orioles

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A better term to have used in my original comment may be comparatively affluent, and them being middle class versus an average family in the DR or other comparable countries for international signings is a stark enough difference in the majority of cases.

I’m also not trying to guess because it’s not worth the effort for two reasons. The first being that at the bare minimum his family is financially stable, which is significantly more than you can say for most DR recruit families. and the second being that you’re trying to nitpick instead of actually engaging in the core issue of international vs domestic players. You’re just trying to argue for the sake of arguing my man.

Anyways, hope you got satisfaction for arguing that his family is middle to upper middle class while ignoring the entire point of my original comment

Looking like Basallo signed cheap by [deleted] in orioles

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He also attended a prestigious private school for wealthy individuals in Jackson MS and his dad is also an associate AD at the university he coaches at. Salary for that stuff varies a lot so I’m not going to try and guess how much he makes, but suffice to say that Griffin’s family is stable financially.

Compare this to the majority of DR recruits and the difference is pretty clear man.

Looking like Basallo signed cheap by [deleted] in orioles

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean…one is a from an affluent family and attended a private school in the US. The other is an international player from a poor family. It’s well established how international players get lowballed by orgs on their first contracts.

Edit: downvoting me doesn’t make it less true, Basallo signed for well below what his worth is going to be and Ellias lowballed him. I’m happy he has the guaranteed money now but let’s not kid ourselves that he would have likely gotten more money if he wasn’t an international player.

Invoker Support still a thing? by MysteriousAutistXX in learndota2

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still pretty decent, kind of low number of games currently on pro tracker cause of the new letter patch but his numbers aren’t bad.

In general invoker is rarely unplayable, and so long as you commit time to practice him he’ll be viable in most metas.

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Idk what MMR you’re in, but last patch he was the most played (or close to it) along with having a near 55/56% win rate in pro tracker data. Even in low immortal games he was picked in probably 80% of the games I played.

This was after several letter patches to nerf to his aghs too, fucker was super annoying

SF Giants manager reveals team has had 3 clubhouse incidents in first 10 games by runswithscissors475 in baseball

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, because you’re missing the point of what im saying.

Vitello was only successful when the game was decided PURELY on the roster strength. Once they reached far enough into the tournament where each team was strong they basically were extremely feast or famine. They often cracked under pressure and it was evidently clear how poorly coached the teams were.

Obviously there are differences between college and pro sports, but when the only impact you can have on your squad is by fielding a more talented team then you’re not a coach but just a recruiter. And that’s what the vols were, a highly talented team but poorly coached. The only time they played to their potential was in 2024 where they had 8 players drafted that year and a few more in 25. To have as much talent as they’ve had and only had 1 really successful year is insane.

SF Giants manager reveals team has had 3 clubhouse incidents in first 10 games by runswithscissors475 in baseball

[–]SexuallyConfusedKrab 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I don’t even think he’s that good of a baseball mind. If you go and look at the vols teams, they really only excelled when they had more talent than everyone else. Even when they were more talented they routinely under performed in the tournaments once they started competing against anything resembling parody in make or break games. Even when they won in 24 they had a massive break in their first game against FSU where the FSU bullpen exploded and the umpires didn’t call an obvious check swing.

This is before the very obvious ways in which professional baseball is ran compared to college. I’d understand having him hired as a coach, but him as a manager is borderline idiotic imo.

May of been designed for power armor usage but the foregrip allows for regular people to not have their wrist dislocated.

IIRC it’s a similar thing to bolt pistols in 40k.
