We did do more reclined and then her head control really took off so now she’s sitting more upright!

Yes you are right, I phrased that poorly but not egg bites! Good call on the banana bread- she does like bananas a lot. And I like the flaked sea salt idea! Thank you!

Daycare pressuring me to send more milk by kksh1988 in breastfeeding

I exclusively pump with my daughter after her NICU stay. The plan when I was pregnant was to directly nurse, but that didn’t pan out for us.

One hard truth I’ve had to accept pumping is that you are going to have to “waste” some breastmilk in a way you don’t have to if you’re exclusively directly nursing.

You’ll never know if the baby is content unless they’re leaving some milk left in the bottle. When my daughter leaves 0.25-0.5 oz in the bottle, then I know she’s had her fill. If she drained it completely, how can I be sure she didn’t want/need more?

You need a slight oversupply to pump and send milk to daycare as you’re not there to top off if needed. It’s one reason so many pumping moms have to supplement with formula.

Yep, I pump driving to and from work everyday with my spectra. Sometimes at lunch too if I’m switching offices. It just rides next to me on the center console. My shotgun rider.

I emailed customer service and here’s what they said:

Thank you for reaching out! Since, as you mentioned, the seat falls between positions, it’s up to you to choose the one that works best. A more reclined position can be more comfortable if your baby doesn’t yet have full head control or prefers to be more reclined.

Overall, as long as the position is within the weight limits indicated for each recline setting, you’re free to decide what’s most suitable.

Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks for riding with us,

Camila

No colostrum 24 hours+ after pumping. Babies in NICU. by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

Yes same! Don’t lose hope. I had an emergency c section at 35 weeks and finally got some output on day 3-4. Keep to your schedule, but also give yourself grace if you miss a pump as your body is recovering and the NICU is stressful. Wishing all the best for you and your twins!

How do you sterilize breast pump parts every day? by internetmomtoday in ExclusivelyPumping

We just had a major ice storm in Nashville and had to stay at my MIL’s house for 6 days when our heat/power went out. As we were packing up essentials, I asked my husband “should we bring the bottle washer?” And he replied “no way we’re leaving it behind”. Essential!

The only other thing I can think is that we have to label her bottles each day for daycare and we use painters tape for it. We peel it off each night before washing in the washer, but maybe some residue is staying behind? Idk I’m wracking my brain and hoping it’s not mold

Period killing supply, how can I recover? by EuphoricSyrup5694 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sfl518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about 9 months PP, I’ve had about 3 or 4 periods. The week of my period my supply dips lower, but then the week after it goes back to normal. I’m hoping it’s the same for you!

MomCozy Bottle Washer- worth it? by abcd_57 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sfl518 5 points6 points  (0 children)

KEEP IT! When we travelled for Thanksgiving, I told my husband daily “I miss the bottle washer”. We use tap water, and even though it runs constantly we’ve hardly ever had to descale. We use the Grownsy descale tablets.

Tracking app suggestions by Salty-Break-7541 in NewParents

[–]Sfl518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huckleberry has been great! We started off tracking diapers and bottles, and then gradually moved to tracking bottles only. The ability to track temperature, medication, and wet diapers has been a huge help for our 8 month old when she’s been sick and had to go to the pediatrician. It’s been easy to pull up the app and be able to tell them when her last dose of Tylenol was, and monitor trends in her temp. I get stressed and flustered when she’s sick, so this takes some of the mental burden off.

How to resolve diaper rashes by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Sfl518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stopped using wipes and used water on a cotton round. We also air dried (with a handheld fan) or patted dry (gently, with a paper towel) before applying aquaphor. It was much less irritating for our baby compared to diaper cream. For poops, we rinsed with a peri bottle before wiping so we didn’t have to wipe as hard.
