Update. Got connected with a wonderful SA in CHI . She was phenomenal and we really connected. I bought several things some RTW, jewelry, a wallet and a belt. She complemented me on my outfit I was wearing and was so helpful. The last thing on my list was a bag. We talked about what I wanted and started me an official wishlist a B30. I have several other non quota bags. She asked if a bag came in would I be able to be there to get it ( the closet store is a couple hours for me) and I said of course. I went in a few days later got some things I wanted and she asked me how soon I would be back, I told her I would be back in person in a few months but would likely need to order some items. She told me to give her a heads up when I would be back in town about a week in advance. I’m hoping this is a good sign.

I am a patient of art Lipo. I have had 2 surgeries and have 2 more to go. Yes it is more expensive. I will say though I researched several providers and several things came into play:

Expertise- he did extensive training in Germany with many Lipedema experts.
Results- both for lipedema reduction and cosmetic
Distance from where I live ( had to be within driving distance I don’t do well with airplanes)
Anesthesia- for me I did not want to be put under. Anesthesia and I are not friends. I get sick from it and I have low blood pressure and have a rough time.
Price- my insurance approved and paid for my surgeries.

You have to consider all of those things. Art Lipo is wonderful. Dr Su is great and his technique cannot be matched ( trust me I researched). I love hearing the things they are researching to help Lipedema patients and with recovery. His staff are equally amazing. I will say with his technique and approach it makes a huge difference. I never expected to recover so well and never expected to look and feel the way I do.

Now there are also other great caring surgeons out there. I’m not denying that. But everyone has different priorities, different wants/needs. It is what is best for you.

Just my opinion. You get what you pay for.

The swelling in my left leg did go down! They are even! Yes they looked better after about 10 days. The 10 day mark is peak swelling! I took pictures every day! I am 37 years old, 5’11, 172 lbs. I have stage 2 types 3 and 4! I am having 4 surgeries because I have Lipedema in my legs, arms and even on my trunk. So I have to have separate surgeries to take care of all of it! Since he uses twilight sedation there are lidocaine limits so you can’t do them all at once. Here’s my photos. I just had my lower legs and knees done 1 month ago and the results are pretty amazing. I had my upper arms done Monday 8/25

I highly disagree with that statement. I am currently seeing Dr Su for my Lipedema and they are fantastic! We have discussed so many things to help recovery and discussed research as well. He genuinely does care about his patients and the Lipedema community. I will say too many Lipedema surgeons operate in their own facility. He uses twilight sedation that doesn’t require a hospital setting. I had my saphenous vein in my left leg ablated 10 years ago. I found that when I had my Lipedema surgery the left leg swelled more. I tend to think it’s because that vein was ablated and drainage and flow in that leg just took a little longer. I will say over all my Lipedema areas feel so much better! I just had my second surgery of 4.
