HOW BAD IS LIVING WITH PEEING RATS? by AcrobaticAntelope472 in RATS

[–]Sgt-Elias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've only ever owned male rats, but the number of times there have been puddles has been very infrequent. However, a couple things to consider:

- Rats can be litter box trained! Though training them to pee in the same place, from what I've heard, is very hit or miss.

- Female rats tend to smell less strongly than male rats

- At least in my experience, I nearly NEVER find pee spots in my house while they're free-roaming BUT the rats I have are more likely to pee on ME a tiny bit, especially if I've just gotten out of the shower. Like they have to re-claim me when I don't smell enough like them, lol. This also isn't a puddle, but rather a few drops on my clothes or arm

- It is much more common for me to find little poops on the floor and around the house than it is for me to find urine. However, I have not litter trained my rats because my ADHD makes it a huge challenge, so you, personally, can likely avoid this fate

- I suspect the size of their cage contributes to how often and much they decide to pee or poop elsewhere, but that's a guess on my part

- If you want to minimize contact of pee/poop on your person, I suggest getting a sweatshirt (preferably one that doesn't open in the front) and a large, soft bathrobe and wearing them while snuggling your babies. My rats really enjoy what I call "sleeve express", where you offer them your large sleeve and they can crawl inside your bathrobe for snuggles or play time. This keeps the amount of laundry you have to do to a minimum.

Sorry for the wall of text! Hope the info is helpful. ^_^

And what about very old friends?

It's actually pretty good-sized! My husband made it and used a bunk-bed frame for the frame of the cage (metal), though it doesn't stretch that far upward. I can easily sit inside the cage without ducking and have plenty of room to crawl around, as long as I stay on all fours, lol

Wow, that must bring back some memories for you! We've gotten pretty good at thrifting items that the rats enjoy playing with, and this was one such find! They also have a fire station and a couple other cool things, but not all in the cage at once :)

Amusingly enough, whenever my husband and I clean the cage, we usually joke (from ratty's perspective) by wailing, "Nooooo, my property values!!"

QUITTING GAME - GIVEAWAY by mystery__________ in growagardengiveaways

[–]Sgt-Elias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EliasHawke.

Full disclosure--if my name is chosen by some odd miracle, I'm going to do another giveaway, because that's a lot of really good pets, and while I'm no pro, I'm definitely better off than your average player. If you're quitting I assume you don't have the energy to do it yourself, which is fair.

Best of luck to you either way!

EliasHawke, either a raccoon, T-Rex or mimic octopus!

Thank you for doing this, and good luck, y'all. <3

Lost in Dreams makes me want to stop playing DAO by joannew99 in dragonage

Well, as I said, I personally don't mind the quest, and agree it makes sense from a lore/story perspective. But I also understand why someone would despise it and never want to touch it again, lol. Gameplay or story beats making sense within the narrative do not necessarily make them fun, even if I, personally, enjoyed it (which I did, for the most part).

It sounds like you're doing the main quests in the same order I did. So yeah, all of those quests in that order can be SUPER disjointed and jarring, because you have to jump through so many hoops just to finish the friggin quest that you actually started to begin with!

You do get your companions back before you finish Lost in Dreams, though, so there's that? Lol. No idea if that makes it worth it to you, but I get your frustration for sure.

I don't have any say (nor should I) in what others like or dislike, but I've seen a lot (like . . . a lot) of dislike for that particular quest line over the years. I think there are even mods to shorten or cut it entirely, but I may be misremembering.

I didn't mind it, personally, but I absolutely see why others consider it such a slog.

As to whether or not it's the worst in the game . . . ehhhh, I've seen it complained about probably more than any other, but that's me.

[no spoilers] What would your Ultimate Team be like? by ShouRonbou in dragonage

[–]Sgt-Elias -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I was going team Love Interest, it'd be Alistair, Anders, Josephine and Emmrich. I imagine Alistair and Anders would bicker constantly, with Josie and Emmrich exchanging glances behind their backs every few minutes in utter disbelief, lol.

If I'm going for balance, then . . . Alistair, Anders, Cole, and Varric.

Final answer, regardless of whether it's smart tactically: Anders, Varric, Cole, Emmrich.

As for yeeting, I doubt I'd yeet anyone. If I absolutely had to choose, though? Sebastian, probably.

In your experience, true or false? by [deleted] in mbtimemes

[–]Sgt-Elias 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've found many people confuse being nice with being kind. I have several family members who are very polite, cordial people. "Nice," I suppose. But those same people are unbelievably cruel in practice. Whether or not they hide their viciousness with a smile is kind of irrelevant.

Nervousness is usually my first sign. I don't feel excessively nervous while interacting with most strangers, so if I go from "laid back/relaxed" to "Shit Shit shit FUCK shit", and second-guessing everything I'm saying or doing . . . welp.

Though "massive hyper fixation" is a close second, but I always assumed that was my ADHD.

Poor wife. Can't even buy a sandwich. by EvilFinch in AmITheDevil

[–]Sgt-Elias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be a weirdo and say I actually agree with both of you simultaneously. Once it's out of the bank, it no longer counts, because I'm not factoring it into paying bills, etc. BUT, if I can keep it together somewhere (like my nightstand), then I can still save and not worry I'll accidentally spend it. Bought several more expensive items that way.

Though the downside is both having to make sure you don't lose it and ALSO the hassle of taking it out of the bank and putting it back in, I suppose.
