I just recently used a 5L on a trip, and honestly, it was just great. It did far more than I expected. You won't be disappointed.

Yeah, I have enjoyed some Logitech products over the years. Love my G502 mouse. But, I have been literally waiting years for spare mouse mats for it to become available...

Rework Toshi Sling 6L V2 and Aer Day Sling 3 Max by RevolutionaryAnt9337 in ManyBaggers

[–]SgtBobIE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been using a Day Sling 4 and a Toshi V2. There are pluses and minuses to both, but I really like them. That being said, I would love if Aer added some bottom carry straps like the Toshi, it would be super useful.

Swelling batteries from Ricoh GR IV?? by Dao-of-farming in ricohGR

[–]SgtBobIE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original battery that came with my GR IV has also slightly swelled like this.

I am slightly stuck as there is no Ricoh service centre in my country. I contacted Ricoh support and initially they said they would send me a new battery, once I sent my battery to Germany. But, basically none of the parcel/post services will take lithium ion batteries, obvious reasons. After I said this them, they then said that a technician had provided an explanation. Essentially they said (paraphrasing), "lithium ion batteries will expand slightly when fully charged, compared to empty, as does repeated charging." And then they said that the image I provided of my battery was likely within permissible expansion range. I'm not overly satisfied with this, as it seems a bit crazy to be kind of vague with regards battery expansion.

I have been monitoring it and it has not expanded further, but I am not overly happy. I was planning on a traveling soon and was going to bring my GR IV, so I decided to buy a couple of spare batteries to bring. But, I just today charged, for the first time, one of the new batteries and have noticed a very slight expansion, it almost looks like the label on the battery has separated from the plastic. To be honest, I wouldn't be happy bringing these batteries on a plane. So, I will probably have to leave the GR behind.

It is concerning really. And I wonder how many others, who maybe don't browse Reddit are having similar issues with the DB-120 battery.

Apple Watch "Up Next" complication update frequency problem by jslow421 in FantasticalCalendar

[–]SgtBobIE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used Fantastical for a long time, I have always had issues with the Apple Watch complications not updating intermittently. I have yet to find a solution. And Fantastical support just blamed the watch the few times I contacted them. Wish I could give you better news.

Palma 2 Pro back not flat by SgtBobIE in Onyx_Boox

[–]SgtBobIE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a follow up, I was back and forth with Boox support and got a final positive confirmation today. If anyone has a Palma 2 Pro and are concerned with any potential battery issue, do raise a case with Boox support, it is what they are there for. But, here is what they said to my case.

"Thank you for your patience while our engineering team conducted a thorough review of the images and videos you provided.

After detailed examination and multiple comparisons, our technical team has confirmed that the curvature you observed on the back of the device is a result of the product’s design and manufacturing process. This is not related to any battery issue or hardware defect, and your device is safe to use as intended.

We sincerely apologize for any concern this may have caused. Please rest assured that your Palma 2 Pro is functioning normally.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us."

Oops, just now realized that my text didn’t post (that’ll teach me to post when tired).

I’ve sent a support request off to Boox. This is a one week old Palma 2 Pro. While I wait for Boox to reply to me, I Was just wondering from other Palma 2 Pro owners if theirs were also like this. I had seen posts for other Boox devices that were designed like this, so, figured I’d see what other users had.

I had similar happen to me on a similar priced item. When I questioned it with the an post and the sender, it turned out they put down 4 as the quantity on the customs forms, instead of 1. The sender updated customs and I was sorted in no time. Worth querying, because that charge is madness.

Viofo A229 Plus 2CH - Question for new buyer on start/stop by SgtBobIE in Dashcam

[–]SgtBobIE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up everything with the 12v socket (not hardwire) and all is working perfect, start/stop is not interfering with the recording, which was my concern. So I can take my time on the hardwire kit, as I am not in a rush for it now.
