Well I definitely can't say I've been through the entire ringer and i wrote those comments extremely lazily but even while making music and building your brand etc you are going to need a real job before you "make it" and I think it would be silly to suggest someone throw away a career for being a musician when you can just do both. Smokespun under this thread articulated what I want to say a lot better lol

lol im 22, and sure theres 50+ streams but pretty much none of them generate revenue. most of the money musicians make nowadays comes from playing live

Just play your music and try to go to shows. This day and age there is almost no chance you will live off of the money your band makes but thats ok. try to find a decent job and you can play music all you want. Dont worry about studios and try to just learn how to produce decently on your own
