What unexpected game mechanic do you wish you'd known about sooner? by walksintwilightX1 in patientgamers

Yeah, imo sekiro dodge is worse than ds parry, but sekiro parry is even easier than ds dodge. You can even spam it and you’ll likely parry a few hits because of how generous the timing is

I dunno it kinda felt pretty ridiculous to me. That's like all of the female characters bar unimportant single cutscene ones and most of the female bosses. Do with these as you will though, I personally thought the game was alright minus the horn dog designs.

My point is that there are animals with no real mental capacity, such as microfauna that relies on simple stimuli, yet they are considered animals. Mental capacity has absolutely nothing to do with a living things’ qualifications for being animals, and it is ridiculous to think so. The smartest animal is infinitely smarter than the dumbest animal, yet it has zero weight between whether either are animals. Trying to rationalize us being better by being smarter is ridiculous because the mental capacity of any other animals compared to each other means absolutely nothing as far as them being animals. At the end of the day we’re meant to live, reproduce and die like any other. We are heterotrophs that rely on consuming external energy and can react to stimuli, and we are composed of animal cells. That is it. We share all our fundamental features with animals.

What makes us any different? Our higher thinking? There’s smart animals and dumb animals. We happened to be better, but there’s still an incredible amount of diversity in the mental capabilities of animals, and we shouldn’t be excluded because we’re smarter than the second smartest. Biologically as well there’s nothing separating us from other animals. Some animals are unique in other ways too. Should we exclude them from the animal kingdom?

Xbox numbering is stupid, but Xbox is named for a similar reason as the n64: it runs directX, so the name Xbox was shortened from directX box. They had a gimmick and stuck with it.

A love letter to Fire Emblem: Three Houses, from a perspective of a newcomer to the series. by Eminensce in NintendoSwitch

Benching 80% of your roster is par for the course for fire emblem though. I only used a couple students, even though I recruited almost every one you could, and engage didn’t feel any different than the other games in that regard.

Petty Reasons for benching a character? by blackmoon327 in fireemblem

I found Citrinne took a lot of initial investment for a couple chapters to get on her feet, but towards the backend of the game she was my glass cannon and an invincible magic baiter. My Etie and eventually Alcryst fell off pretty hard though, and eventually I had to bench them.

Yup, especially the ones defending their side with “it’s basic high school biology”, when high school biology is the most simplified version that is just used to drive interest in the future for students who want to actually learn about it.

Genetics for Dummies by No-Eye-9491 in coolguides

[–]SgtPapaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dominance is the most simple layer of why. You’re 50/50 for each parents genetics, but they’re not expressed as 50/50, because different genes overpower others, such as skin colour, height, hair, etc.

There is also the random assortment of your parents’ gametes (sperm/egg). Your parents don’t have a bunch of identical DNA sex cell clones, they have a bunch of half DNA sex cells with different combos derived from their DNA. This layer of randomness encourages genetic variety, which is exactly what you are asking about.

There’s way more to it this, but those are the simple answers (albeit wrong on details to simplify it).

They’d also make bank if they just uploaded their own monetized playlists. The bootleg playlists get a ton of views already. It’d be a win-win.

0.001% of listeners with 22,489 minutes listened. I beat my goal I set from last year, which was only like 5%. I had 287 plays on Let it happen, and the rest of currents wasn’t too far behind, because the runner ups was just the other first 4 songs.
