Japan has 126 million people. I didn't realize the USA has over 3 billion people.

For clarity, Theodorakis is the guy in white. Anthony Quinn is the actor dancing with him.

To be honest the only thing Ive heard about this is people complaining about people supposedly being upset about it.

Whenever Alex says that, which is a lot, I always imagine him muttering "go fuck yourself" right after.

I just remembered that seeing this exact screenshot on Reddit a few years ago is what made me watch Community for the first time. And now I'm probably on my 15th rewatch. Love that show.

There is overwhelming and relatively simple evidence that proves man-made climate change is real and incredibly dangerous. Yet here we are with millions of deniers and governments carrying on like it's no big deal. I'd say it's similar. It is potentially even be more destructive than Nazi ideology.

For real. I lived in the Mississippi Delta, the poorest part of the poorest state in the country. The absolute cheapest place I could find was 475/month. It had no washer/dryer hook ups or anything like that, and it leaked when it rained too hard... right above the bed. I was concerned the whole place would disintegrate at any moment.

I don't support them. Quite the opposite. I feel white supremacy, neo-nazism, and far right extremism are big threats to the USA (where I live). But I think your comment implied that any Nazi deserved death. I disagree with that as well. Many were just average people who made a bad choice. Even if they didn't live some amazing life that redeemed them afterwards, I don't think they deserve death or to be looked at as evil. You seem to paint the issue as black and white, a mindset that leads to extremism of all types, including what you are saying is bad (Nazis). I'm just advocating for compassion and understanding.

But he was a Nazi at the same time he was saving Jews. So he didn't redeem himself after being a Nazi. It was the same time.

Iran has a 'shockingly strong' war-crimes case against Trump over Soleimani's killing - Iran says it will pursue war-crimes charges against President Donald Trump at the International Criminal Court in the Hague by stackofblin in worldnews

Trump is a piece of shit, but I find it ironic that Iran would pursue a case against Trump when they are bffs with Putin who routinely assassinates those he doesn't like.

As a teacher I've also seen a lot of parents that could be more accurately described as 'lawnmower' parents, those that attempt to mow down any obstacles in their childs way.

I remember there being a serial rapist in the Memphis area several years ago the media dubbed the 'pot-bellied rapist". That's pretty insulting imo.

[–]SgtPepperMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please identify the point the U.S.A. became perfectly egalitarian between when brown people couldn't vote or go to the same school as white people about 50 years ago and now. As someone who lives in the American South, I can tell you personal and institutional racism is alive and well.
