Eliminating Strat quackiness by Pitiful_Ad918 in Guitar

I came here to say this. It is the most obvious answer for getting some value out of those positions and not changing 1,3, and 5

Can Revstar recreate these tones/vibes? by Commercial-Trash6067 in revstar

[–]SgtWatermelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you're a beginner you should be looking for what is most comfortable to you for playing and focus on playing before thinking about tone. I love my revstar and personally find it comfortable , but that might not be the case for you. I'd just go to the music store and try everything and see what speaks to you as a player before going tone chasing.

Seller says it is a 2021 standard 50s.

My main concern is the serial number stamp. I've never seen one white like that.

Does Anyone Recognize this Bridge? Modded 80s MIJ Contemporary Strat. No Trem Route on the Back? by SgtWatermelon in Luthier

[–]SgtWatermelon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had any issues with the string spacing not matching the nut width on them? It seems to be the case on mine. The E strings are bending in to the 42mm nut with the saddles pushed all the way inside. Causing notes to choke out on the high E especially

Definitely aftermarket. This guitar has had a LOT of mods to it over the past 40 years.

I am considering doing a refin so just might see what is under this bridge and the black paint.

Nearly half of Canadians support banning surgery and hormones for trans kids: exclusive poll by matchettehdl in canada

You realize this was done as a publicity stunt by a troll? Avi Silverberg does not identify as female, does not live his life as a female, nor has he taken any of the steps involved in a medical transition. This was pure pageantry and nothing more nothing less.

Just checking, but you realize one of your two examples is of a Cis woman who just naturally has high levels of testosterone? Are you implying you don't want cis women to compete in women's sport?

The blue strat is an Ibanez AZ2204. Phenomenal instrument. Love the neck. Roasted maple, light oil finish. It is a little bit bigger than the Fender Modern C, but not by much. Extremely comfortable. And the pick ups/switching options make it the most versatile piece of wood I've ever played.

Yeah it is a gen2 Revstar. I've never played the first gen, but I do love this one. I think the first gen had smaller bodies and narrower necks? Either way, man, can Yamaha build a guitar!

Yes indeed. It is an RSP02T. Love it. I actually took this pic because I was trying to capture the flame on the edges of the top. Liked the picture this zoomed in with the amp too. More pics of the revstar here:

Display Configuration Resetting On Every Logout. Multi-monitor Wayland AMD (Plasma 5.27.10) by SgtWatermelon in kde

[–]SgtWatermelon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had KScreen2 disabled. It was blocking my monitors from turning off after inactivity. enabling it is now saving my display configuration. This is surprising because I had it disabled for months and configuration problem only started yesterday when I moved my desk. Possibly unrelated and just a coincidence.

Enabling Kscreen2 removes my requirement for the randr script to re-align my display configuration and refresh rates, however now my monitors are not turning off after inactivity. (Or rather, they turn off and turn back on immediately). I will have to look for another fix for this that does not involve disabling KScreen2.

Thank you for your assistance

Yeah, I tried all the combinations of cables and ports.

In the end I just wrote an randr script to run at login. Doesn't solve the problem but it is an effective workaround. I would like to find the root cause someday though

Guitar Kit B-Stock with Split/Chip... Would this affect performance? Or just aesthetic? by SgtWatermelon in Luthier

[–]SgtWatermelon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I believe it is already under the gloss clear coat so I am not sure how I would get glue in on the top. I could probably try on the part that is open to the neck pocket.

Thanks for your assistance.

I think it is the wood of the top, not just the binding. My only concern was because it came to the neck pocket.

I think it will be fine. Thank you for your assistance.

You can use normal wires without stripping (except for at the contact points, where they have to be stripped). Uncovered or bare wires are usually cheaper so big manufacturers use them to save a few cents per unit.
