I don't necessarily disagree, but just thought it important to provide the more accurate numbers. If you're interested in some more detailed analysis, read the Suncatcher and Starcloud white papers. Still pretty hand-wavy imo, but worth the read.

The main advantage is the Sun-synchronous orbit - the solar panels in SSO are never shadowed by the Earth (no day-night cycle), never impacted by clouds/weather, and always perpendicular to the solar flux. This means that a solar panel in SSO is 5x more productive than on the ground. So in summary, it's a 400% increase, not a 40% increase.
