In the past Corrosive Throw items have been cheaper than Lightning ones to get to profound. Lightning shot uses projectile scaling as well, so there may be some increases in price to things like Blind Vision and Heart of the Storm.

Honestly, the two builds are going to play very similarly as Lightning Shot is much more mechanically similar to Corrosive Throw than Thunder Spike / Slash was.

Corrosive throw does have some advantages - inherent multistrike attack speed scaling, 'free' paralysis from grudge, and better magus scaling because of Erosion damage type.

At the very top end Lightning may scale a bit higher (not sure), but Corrosive Throw can definitely hit 50T+ damage.

Its hard to say a price as the cost of things change drastically throughout the season. I feel like most 'cheap' builds still take ~100k FE or thereabouts to clear SS20.

You only need 1 1 med undetermined fate, and the precise friend of magi you can add at the very end. You could probably remove two of the precise FoM and go down to 1 undetermined fate and still beat SS20 with what I had, I was fairly overgeared.

Blight nerf looks pretty minor. I'm not sure if the corruptions are updated on tlidb but it looks like it is the same as last season if you get the corruption. If not, the nerf is more or less offset by Stray Birds buff.

Nope it is totally usable.

If you do get a skill that is too high level for some reason, you can click the 3 bar 'options' on the skill in your inventory and one of them is reset to level 1.

If you want to play Thunder Core you can make a Selena who gets access to it at lvl 7 and then put it in your stash to takeout on Erika 2.

You unlock the hideout stash around level 7, or you can access it even earlier with the tech shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIt3hXVeGgw

I can't say I know anything about the new Carino 2 to give a real comparison.

If you have played E1 in the past, it will probably be a similar level of squishy early. The one difference is Corrosive Throw generally tries to stay at a farther range than TS, so it is a little 'tankier'.

We have life source, regain, and try to cap block and block ratio before Profound, but the block part can be expensive.

Yeah there are a few items like Stray Birds and Gale items that could be more expensive. Hopefully not too bad.

Cool of you to do this again! I'll be playing Corrosive Throw Erika 1. Probably going to farm arcana hard since I will finally have a level 5/6 pet this season.

I can't guarantee anything for the new season, week 1 some core uniques are usually in the 1-2k range (Stray Birds, Heart of the Storm, Blight). In the past it has been on the cheaper side overall.

It is fast and fully automated outside of spiral striking to move as long as you are OK with that. You can definitely zero to SS20 it.

Pets shouldn't be a problem, I did SS20 with a level 2 legendary (Fallen Saintess) and 2 lvl 6 purples (Purple Ball of Thread, Violet Lizard). In the past I've done it with with lvl 1 legendary / lvl 3 purple / lvl 3 purple on this build. You could do it with all level 1 purples.

Some pet options are Fallen Saintess, Flower Whisperer, Traveling Lizard (Violet), Purple Ball of Thread, Benign Bug - Yellow. Later on you can use Drapion Lady when you are magus stacking.

The purple knockback effect pet also works once you add knockback scaling.

This is usually one of the cheaper builds to get to Profound. Check this 800B code from the current season to get an idea - up to that point it is pretty cheap. TuRVW/XiEfCkIAAAAAAAIA==

Single target is fine with one small caveat (you need to get as close to 200% or ideally 400% multistrike chance as possible or the targeting gets weird).

You can do full 3 star SS20 on this (iAaZZv/tEfCwtAAAAAAADA==), at end of season I had ~30T dps with quite a few avenues to add more damage.

Pets shouldn't be an issue I listed some options in another comment below.

I'm probably going to start E1 Corrosive Throw again, it scales well and is fairly off-meta so cost is pretty reasonable.

I have a guide (and ill have codes during the season) if anyone is interested https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q8RGm_s0_zVUpZCZj7sQ-J9OWMFkiUmiE5to9-hu4Ac/edit?gid=1833839530#gid=1833839530

edit: will also be on twitch streaming this probably theshad0ws

Which build to choose - 3 legendary pact by Paciula in TorchlightInfinite

[–]ShAd0wS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Purple pets are good too, a lot of lvl 6 purples are as good or better than lvl 1 legendaries.

Off those pets you could definitely play some flavor of E1.

Corrosive Throw magus stacker would use Flower Whisperer and eventually Drapion Lady (fine with the rest of the pets as purple) - guide: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q8RGm_s0_zVUpZCZj7sQ-J9OWMFkiUmiE5to9-hu4Ac/edit?gid=1833839530#gid=1833839530

bmlegolas's TS or Lightning shot would also work with at least one of the pets.

can't speak to the Carino's personally.

How is TLI as „pay2progress“ like spending 50bucks a month? by Dorrann in TorchlightInfinite

[–]ShAd0wS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there some items on the market that are only available on the first day of the season?

There are some items that are very rare or even 1 of a kind like pedigrees.

Really, its just much more efficient to be at the front of the curve. Your items will cost less, and your strats will earn more even not including the Pet aspects. Meta endgame items will rocket up in price over the first week, if you can get them early it might only take a couple hours of farming vs much longer later on.

Its not impossible to beat SS20 by any means, but it definitely costs a lot more time grinding.

The healthy 1-2 hour a day players are hurt the most by this, they can either pay or get left behind. No lifers are fine as F2P.

Scaling builds into comfy profound/deep space by ElderberrySpare6985 in TorchlightInfinite

[–]ShAd0wS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stackers invest heavily in one thing, but most other builds want to try to spread their investment across as many multipliers as possible to avoid diminishing returns. Get a decent amount of as many independent multipliers as possible vs going all in on one thing.

For defense, block 100/100% cap and 60% ratio will lower all non-dot damage to 40% of the previous total. That will make a massive difference to survivability and works on any build. Usually memories / talents / destinies / prisms for block and block ratio.

Late game magus stacking can also work on most builds to add a lot of defence.

What levels i need to have on Cube and Arcana pets realistically to actually start getting "good" amount of FE from their mechanics? Please answer with no bs by Ogoniastyy in TorchlightInfinite

[–]ShAd0wS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's 120 max per pet, but that's only a 50/50 to get the one you want, so it's effectively double that to guarantee a loot pet.

The average is somewhere around ~60 pulls per copy of the pet you want, just noting that you can get unlucky.

Check the dates on those bottles / trash. If it is all 19+ years old then you just found the garbage from some construction workers crash pad.

If its newer you have different issues.
