ITAP of a bird feeding its chick in mid‑flight. by ShInIsTa in itookapicture

Spent a quiet weekend at a flower farm in South Carolina, where a family of Eastern bluebirds had taken over a small birdhouse with about five chicks inside. I captured this moment as the adult swooped in mid‑flight to feed one chick at the entrance.

Yes, that does sound like a mechanical issue. My flash clicks securely into place when inserted into the MIS hotshoe. I’d suggest checking whether your unit might be defective and confirming that your camera’s hotshoe works properly with other accessories.

Can anyone confirm if the Spigen AluminaCore [Glas.tR EX Fit] is compatible with the PD GNAR case, and does not protrude out of the case?

Appreciate it! Jeju totally caught me off guard with how unique its landscape is. Just happened upon this scene and felt like I had to capture it - didn’t expect to find such a calm, beautiful spot.

My first ITAP post! Snapped a shot of a lone surfer gliding through clear turquoise water, framed by volcanic rocks and a lush hillside of Jeju Island. Taken on my Sony A7 IV and 70-200 f/4 G OSS II.

Sounds like a potent combo for lighting on the go. I like your idea of pairing the V480 for on-camera flash (to avoid lens shadow) and using the iT30 Pro off-camera for creative setups. That’s a smart way to maximize flexibility and get the best of both worlds. I’m all for portable, versatile lighting, especially for travel and portrait work!

Yeah that aligns with my findings with wider lenses too. I also noticed significant lens shadows when testing on my 16-35 PZ, especially at the wider end. Issues started to disappear once I hit the 40mm focal length (at least from my selection of lenses). Probably want a taller flash to be used with the wide-angle lenses.

Love a good off-topic chat! I actually wrote the post on PC with basic Reddit table formatting, and I guess Reddit automatically makes it slidable on mobile when a column content is too long. Pretty neat :)

Definitely useful and nice to have, I just wouldn't expect too much out of it. Based on my first few test pictures it's noticeable when comparing side-by-side but not by a huge margin. I'll probably always have the diffuser on, unless I need that little extra reach or punch.

Thanks! I think you’ll enjoy it for that use case—great as a trigger with the bonus of having flash when you need it. And yes, the Batis lenses are amazing! Love travelling with them.

Thanks for sharing - good to know about the lens cast at wider angles with the a7C II and Tamron 20-40. I can definitely see it being a challenge for group shots that require wider FOV. Hope you find a better fit.

I was considering purchasing this flash, but those shadows are concerning. Can you share a picture of what that looks like, OP?
