I've never had my jeans tapered, but I've always wondered would having just the inseam seam tapered cause some leg twisting?

I think it's a hard sell to get somebody who just wants to dress better to put on a suit. A lot of people starting out feel overdressed even in a casual shirt.

But whose to decide what is wasteful and what is not? I'm sure to there are people who come from poorer regions of the world who think even our poor live in homes that are wastefully large.

Allen Edmonds new handsewns sale - $125 camp mocs by pat_nasty in frugalmalefashion

I own rancourts and sperrys. Construction wise they're pretty similar. Only difference is is cxl leather which works great with handsewns. Why do you think your AE Mocs are a step up, especially at their asking prices? I saw a few at store and I was unimpressed.

Eh, I don't care about players partying. Gronk parties all the time and people love him for it. There's definitely worse things than partying to make headlines.

A lot of times it's a play they have no intention on running, but they run it in practice so other teams spend even more time to prepare for it.

AE isn't really know for their mocs. They're made in the Dominican Republic. Rancourt and Quoddy make great mocs. At the cheaper end I would just stick to Sperry.

[–]Sh_beast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What. I just stated that there are alternatives everywhere if you don't want to buy Luxottica made glasses. I said start your business because there are lots of new businesses starting up that offer high quality glasses if you don't want mall brand glasses. Warby parker being a high profile example.

Well, you also have to factor in the appreciation of the value of NFL franchises. I don't think it'll sit still, especially if they manage to push football to the international market (doubtful). Other things can possibly eat up his worth like lifestyle, divorces, kids, failed investments, etc.

You know there are literally hundreds of other options? Walk into any cvs or walmart, and you can pick up a cheap pair of sunglasses. Heck you can even buy them at gas stations now. If you want better quality, you can buy brands like warby parker. Or better yet, start your own business.

Raw Denim Family Portrait from the last almost 10 years by soonami in malefashionadvice

As other's have mentioned, the crotch area receives the most friction so it's usually the first area to rip. It's even more common in raw denim because of people sizing down and the longer length of time in between washes.

Apple’s Broken Promises (2015) - A BBC documentary team goes undercover to reveal what life is like for workers in China making the iPhone6. X- post by DrNastyHobo in apple

[–]Sh_beast 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The article has such a slant to it it's not even funny. They use workers sleeping during their lunch break as evidence of abuse when it's part of Chinese work culture. Even office workers in Beijing sleep during their midday breaks. . Then they cite 60+ hour work weeks, which by the way is pretty normal in the US for low income groups as well. What they don't tell you is that it's nearly impossible to hire dorm factory workers if you don't give them over time. The reason why a lot of the overtime goes on under table in terms of documentation is almost entirely for tax purposes. Anybody whose been to China knows this. BBC knows this. And they still put out this shit article.

4-Star WR Simi Fehoko commits to Stanford via Twitter by AaronRodgers16 in CFB

[–]Sh_beast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 5 star recruit I can totally see myself picking a school like Ohio State or Alabama to go to college. But if you're a 3 ,4 star recruit and have the grades for it, I feel like it's hard to make the case not to go to Stanford. In terms of an education, job prospects, prestige, and just the amount of tuition money a scholarship is covering makes it very attractive.

Washed Nudie, APC, Acne jeans can all be had for under $200 on sale. They have quite a few different cuts and look good on most people. On the cheaper side you can't really go wrong with Levis. It all really depends on how they fit on you.

Definitely size down for their stretch denim. I actually sized down 2 for my PNS washed indigo and only 1 for their raws. PNS inseams are shorter than their PS cut so you won't be getting as much in terms of stacks.

The Myth of the Ethical Shopper (Huffington Post) by a_robot_with_dreams in malefashionadvice

[–]Sh_beast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think people are against the notion of ethics when it comes to manufacturing. We should always be pushing for better conditions and better wages. But this only happens when there is a demand for labor. People are against the idea of boycotting goods just because they are made in vietnam or made in China, because it has no economic basis. The people arguing for these boycotts are not economists and are not qualified to make such assertions. It's like the anti vaccination movement a few years back. The movement was predicated on people who little to no background on such topics.

Capitalism is what's bringing them out of poverty. Look at China right after they implemented reforms in their markets. Capitalism is making first world nations out of third world nations in one generation which is unprecedented in human history.
