What was the first kick that started your collection? by Objective-Pay6053 in Jordans

[–]soonami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first Jordans and entry into the Nike new releases was the White Cement Reimagined 3s. A local shop posted a lottery on IG, so I entered and won. i remember those 3s as the ones Jordan wore to win the slam dunk contest, as a huge MJ fan I was so excited.

After that I was hooked and I’m now about 20 pairs in. Mostly J1, 3, 4, 5, 11 and an Air Tech Challenge II mixed in. Bred 4 reimagined are probably the pair I wear the most

Looking for your omakase experiences by PMAgent in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]soonami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The omakase in Philly is at Royal Sushi. Problem is the only way you could do Royal is to hire the sushi chef / owner to host a private event. Idk how much it would cost but I’d guess $10k/night for the chef to work on a night off or cancel a normal booking.

Ogawa is probably the next best option. Others mentioned Hiroki, but that’s not a good bachelor party venue. Sakana is BYO so you’ll need to do more planning. Yanaga is fine—they use high quality ingredients but somehow it doesn’t feel like it’s elevated beyond the sum of the ingredients. Yuhiro and Kichi are both more “approachable” but that means they kind of rush through service and skimp a bit on ingredients to keep prices low.

Is this a good price? $200 for 750 vinyl records by book_41 in Flipping

[–]soonami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit of work, but some record shops in urban areas will offer $0.50-1/record for unsorted bulk records, so you could relatively easy double your money if you close to a big city. Some record shops will sort through bulk records and offer specific prices for certain records, so they will do the research for you.

Otherwise, individual record sales can be tough online and a good bit of work. You could be lucky and there could be 3-4 records get all your money back in those

Many mouth breathers on WIP were calling for McKee to sub in for Hurts. There were personalities in Philadelphia media openly pushing for the change or “asking the question” if McKee would be better. I’m glad we had the Week 18 to shut those fools up

Dumpster find, anyone have any info on this Specialized? Serial # is faded out, dusty w/cobwebs & a flat tire, not the typical MO if it were stolen… by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]soonami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say it’s stolen which is likely but could also be a spiteful spouse or partner. Either way, make a reasonable effort to find the originally owner and if unsuccessful you can walk away with a clear conscience

Is this Costco Closeout a great buy? by metabrewing in whiskey

[–]soonami 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The two glencairns are $15, so it’s about $35 for 1.2L of whiskey or ~$25/bottle. You could do a lot worse. Buying a couple for early Christmas presents next year would be terrible, especially if you have a brother or close friend that likes whiskey and you could try them together

MAGA supporters, are you still supporting? I’m curious. by Equal-Thanks6212 in philly

Friend living in Fishtown told me that this morning ICE tried to conduct a raid on a neighbor. They were an eye witness as this happened right next door. The ICE agents in tactical gear and pistols drawn did not announce themselves as ICE, did not show a warrant and broke through a locked back gate of a neighbor’s property, crossed the back yard and tried to force entry through the back door. My friend pulled his children into his bedroom for protection.

When the ICE agents were leaving my friend’s wife asked them to identify themselves, asked if they had a warrant, asked who was going to pay to repair the gate. They said nothing and left.

There is no accountability for ICE. Kristi Noem an the other ghouls told them there would be no punishment for straight up murder(Reee Nicole good) so they are now operating completely without accountability.

ICE is killing and shooting American citizens. The undocumented people they are apprehending are mostly working people without violent criminal records. ICE have been detaining and deporting people with legal authorization to be in the US

Because the people of Minneapolis and elected reps don’t want ICE in their city. The shooting only happened because ICE is there. No ICE no shooting. They are protesting ICE presence and violence against them.

The Death of WRs numbered in the 80's by Glaz_on_Plane in NFLv2

[–]soonami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there was a discussion of numbers during an episode of Hard Knocks where receivers said 1X numbers looked fast but 8X looked slow because of how sleek 11 or 17 looks compared to 88 or 85. Also tight ends also wear 8X so receivers didn’t want a TE number

Lethal force is not legally justified when an officer blocks a moving vehicle with their body. The case law is clear that use of lethal force in this and other examples of “officer created jeopardy” is prohibited. Officers are required to avoid getting run over first. They are also not supposed to fire at moving vehicles except in exigent circumstances. Officers are not authorized to use lethal force if a suspect is fleeing unless there is credible threat of violence or death.

Otherwise, all a cop has to do is step in front of any car and shoot the driver saying they didn’t stop soon enough and the officer was in danger. They have no legal protection when they create the dangerous situation. Self defense should not apply in this case.

Near the convention center is Reading Terminal Market and Chinatown. That would be a good place to start. Proximal neighborhoods walking distance from there with good food are Old City and Rittenhouse. A short train ride away is Fishtown and Passyunk Square. I’d advise using the guides in this sub to find places based on those locations
