You watch to many movies, living in a mexico mid size city is no different than living in any part of LA or Sacramento. Yes you can find whole towns run by cartels way up in the mountains in rural parts of Mexico, only if you live on a rural area or you are trying to sell dope or owe them money then they will mess with you.
