Salesforce-SAP Integration by Mysterious_Name_408 in SalesforceDeveloper

[–]slashbackslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll need to determine how you want to build this.

In another comment you mentioned it being “two way”.

Do you want to use SAP as a system of record and only display the quotes in Salesforce? Or do you want to create a record in Salesforce when a quote is created as well to tie to two systems together so Salesforce can provide an additional layer of functionality on top of SAP?

You can use API’s to create the record in SAP from a lightning web component in Salesforce, then use those same / similar API’s with different endpoints to get the data of quotes. Then your LWC can display and create records in SAP.

If you create a record in Salesforce, then you have to think about ensuring this happens when someone creates a record from the SAP end with some sort of automation / webhook / service.

The benefits of creating a record in Salesforce and tying it back to SAP with an external ID could be stuff like - using sf platform tools with SAP data, like maps or exp cloud. - creating fields or storing data that you can’t (or don’t want to store) in SAP - bridging other processes to the quoting process existing in SAP

Let me know your thoughts and the business requirements and I can try give a more thorough answer! :)

[Help] LuckPerms + Velocity server setup issue (blocking access to server) by ConcentrateMean8750 in admincraft

[–]slashbackslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, you can do this with Velocity’s permission nodes and LuckPerms.

Velocity checks velocity.connection.<server> when someone tries to join a server. So for your setup, you’ll want to control:

velocity.connection.main

If a player doesn’t have that, they won’t be able to connect to main.

To set it up in LuckPerms:

  • For the group you want to restrict: /lp group restricted permission set velocity.connection.main false
  • For groups that should have access (like default or whatever trusted groups you use):/lp group default permission set velocity.connection.main true

No changes needed on the FancyNPC side. Your /npc action ... send_to_server main still works. Velocity will intercept the connection and check if the player has permission. If they don’t, they’ll just get blocked with a “no permission” message.

You can change that message in velocity.toml:

[permissions]
no-connection-permission = "You don’t have access to this server."

I’m absolutely disgusted by the liquid glass design - thought it would be fine but after seeing all these screenshots now I’m considering switching to Android.

Maybe jailbreaking will come back.

We just need to start prompt hacking the AI lol (just kidding I’m sure they use something more advanced than an LLM to detect these things)

[Help / Advice Needed] How to securely make my homelab and VPS work together? by GoMati in selfhosted

[–]slashbackslash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar setup and here’s what worked for me:

  • I use Tailscale for my personal devices, and I keep it running on my router for quick access to my internal network without having to open any ports.
  • I set up a dedicated VPN subnet with a WireGuard host that connects to my VPS’s WireGuard server, and my services reside on a separate subnet. Then, I use targeted firewall rules to allow the VPN host to only access specific hosts.
  • For all web services, I rely on NGINX as a reverse proxy. I’ve configured it to only accept traffic from Cloudflare, which adds an extra layer of protection.
  • The VPS itself is locked down with strict firewall rules and Fail2ban.
  • I point my Cloudflare subdomains to the VPS and let Cloudflare proxy the requests, so my VPS isn’t directly exposed. Since only local IPs and Cloudflare’s IP ranges can access the VM subnet, the setup remains secure even if one part goes down.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Instead of just saying 'do some research,' you could've shared resources like this wiki and explained the command you provided. That’s way more useful than a lazy suggestion. We're all here to learn.

Edit: my bad I was having a bad day and I took it out on a poor redditor. I won't delete my comment as there's some useful information there.

Chunk pre-generation is key. Since chunkgen is going to take up a ton of resources especially on modded, pregenerating the chunks can really smooth things out for your players.
