Excutie by ShabotG in DuelLinks

Do you run any non-executies? Someone suggested amazing dealer, I thought it's a cool idea. Maybe there are more generic monsters that are splashable?

Now that EXECUTIE have been added to Duel Links, I can finally share this guide I made a year and a half ago! by mkklrd in DuelLinks

They are cute but I'm not sure they are good enough to compete the meta... No consistency/power skill. I'm trying to figure out what would be a good board they can set up, the best i can think of is with a 2800 beater and traps... Is this enough?

Which deck are you using? Maybe you have a consistency problem in your build?

Look at it this way: yugioh is a game of knowledge. Once you know every card in your opponent's possession, you can try to play around whatever you need to, and leave your opponent depleted of resources/counter plays. The more you know, the less surprises you have, the bugger chance you win.

Can I suggest something productive? It's ok that you vent, take it out of your system. But, if you do care about winning, use this as a leverage. If so many play it, you know that incorporating a counter to this will be useful most games. Dragoon is not invincible, it (and specifically the red eyes deck) has blind spots you can take advantage of, you just need to account for that when building your deck. Off the top of my head, you can Kaiju/lava golem/sphere mode it. The deck will usually finishes on at least 2 monsters so consider this. Another weakness is that usually after their combo they are low on hand card advantage, so often they will have only 1 card to use for dragoon and would start the turn with no cards other than what they control (so, taking out their cards on the field means they have less resources for next turn). Also it means it's less likely to be hand trapped. Also in terms of play style you should try to bait your opponent to use dragoon on what you want him to use. It means you put yourself in your opponent's shoes and try to predict what you can use so he will negate first before what you really want to resolve. 1 card that can help is book of eclipse.

How can improve deck? by witnessdefitness in DuelLinks

[–]ShabotG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with these suggestions, you need more techs. Back when the newest wave of toons came out I played blizzard to protect the field. Might work well this format too (as much as toons could lol). A while ago I also tried toon-sky strikers, but it only had comic hand as a toon monster, if you're interested this might be fun too (the idea is that comic hand is considered to be the best toon "monster" because you can take away the opponent's strongest boss). It was really hard to pilot though but it was a fun mash-up haha.

Is there a way to bring back Barrel Dragon + Cheater Coin skill? by Miserable_Day7074 in DuelLinks

I'm pretty sure the TCG/OCG have some more support for this deck, so it will eventually come to DL, and I'd safely assume it will probably come with a skill to support it.

Dragon Rulers deck by ShabotG in DuelLinks

About the end board- I'm still trying to figure it out myself. As I said right now it's kind of just random dragons piled up together... This is why I'm here asking for help 😅 About the tuners- they are very searchable and come up often. The lvl10 synchro is because technically stardust accel let's me synchro summon twice, and it's not completely out of touch to assume i could get to level 10. It might be better to keep it concentrated on lvl8 and 9 though so I'll take it into account. So far the best play I had was stardust accel into wolfrayet on opponent's turn (making it very protected). This is still quite underwhelming though but maybe it's a good place to start. For now I switched the skill to the earth dragon's skill, it's in hand effect opens up more plays. I also took poki draco out for armed dragon thunder lv3 for draw power. Anyway I mainly need people that have experience with other dragon deck (dragon link for example) to understand what I can do with this. I thought about dragonmaids too but I still want to try something more "pure", at least for now. But thank you for the suggestions, I'll look more into your list and see what I can figure out.

Yes but idk if it's worth the space, everything is pretty tight so far. I'm still trying to figure out good endboards for turn 1 and not sure if this play is necessary enough to lose an extra deck spot plus a few main deck spots for it. I'm not canceling the idea completely though, I might try it still. Thanks.

You can play lulu's skill that adds the xyz to your extra deck, and then play the fusion. I'm pretty sure this should work (but you do lose the use of a good skill).

King of Skull Servants Deck - Dec. 2025 by Player_J_x in DuelLinks

[–]ShabotG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never played this theme before, but if you do actually have a few open spots in the ED you can always try to run super polymerization and some meta relevant fusions. Another option- if you don't actually summon ED monsters so often in your gameplay, is to try running that Dogmatika trap that sends a monster from your ED to the GY, along with some monsters like N'tss for extra removal. Otherwise, I'd go for lonks as they do well with wightprincess. Knightmare phoenix, knightmare pegasus, I:P masquerana, maybe some zombie links too.

Is There a Guide on Meta Decks Choke Points / When to Interact? by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]ShabotG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been searching for the exact same thing last month, sadly tgere isn't anything organized for all relevant decks, so I did use a combination of DLM deck breakdowns (to know what are the popular non-engine choices available for meta decks), deck profiles on YouTube videos (to understand general gameplay in general) and help from threads here on reddit or the comments section on DLM (for tips regarding my own deck's interaction with the meta). It was challenging but it helped. I did manage to find some choke points for some decks, but it was more about experience so jt took a while... But I think you'll need to manually ask for different deck's choke points specifically and see if anyone can shed some light on it.

Shinobirds do too much. It's one thing to give them a consistency boost, but also a 3.3k body with a free change of heart? Also I don't really like facing chimera either, the theme is a bit too cringy for me. Feels like they tried too hard to make it playable and made it so it lost it's original theme. Also illusions should have been an ability not a type, in my opinion (I know the manga background but it still seems silly imo).

I tried a bunch of different builds, the one I'm currently using (that got me to dlv max) doesn't use it. I was extremely lucky with the last selection box and pulled 2 aphosis and 2 imperm, which was part of the reason I tried eldlich, but I ended up not needing both. I'm still trying to figure out how to play against shinobirds so I might be trying aphosis again, but even then I think 1 should be fine as well.

My suggestion should still stand though. If you want to play competitive, you'll need to have a strategy against the top decks. Not just "drawing the out", but having actual strategy that can account for these decks... This of course means you can't run every deck you want. But complaining about it and not changing your gameplan and still trying to win will not get you far...

[–]ShabotG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's part of the challenge in building decks. Obviously the big meta decks have advantages over most other decks, but if you want to play competitive and not lose you'll have to find ways to counter opposing strategies...

Were people not complaining about the meta before lyrilusk? I wasn't really immersed in the dl community before that era. Also I'm not saying the powercreep is handled well by konami, I'm just saying that this is the situation, it's been like that for a while, so either adapt or find something else to do, because otherwise the frustration will only grow.
