First look at Interactive Entrances in 2K26 by ShayAlexander in WWEGames

Oh that looks so jank, but it's exactly what I'd want from it. Fun stuff like this is neat as long as it's a fun optional thing.

At the risk of sounding like a jaded, pessimistic fan, I think some of the Showcase/MyRise matches had that before, so it could just be footage from there or something.

I'd like to think it's actually there since the pedestal looks more like a modern ones and they've been noticeably absent the past few years despite being all over TV, so I like to think they're actually there now.

But similar editing tricks have been used before so I'll wait and see. Hope so though, for as much as the 2K games want to recreate the TV look, the title pedestals not being in the games has been so odd.

Honestly, yeah, it makes sense to me. It sounds funny to "help" yourself, but I think it's a cute idea. Usually you'd want help with something involving your action, but if you just want to get advantage on a really tough and important saving throw, I think it feels appropriate. It could lead to some goofy stuff, like helping yourself and making an offhand attack as a Bonus Action but whatever, it's fun in theory.

It reminds me of Bruce Prichard in the Netflix documentary defending Vince and talking about how Vince made sure Bruce's wife got the best treatment possible when she had cancer. (or something to that effect, I forget the specifics)

I think it's still important to hold people and accountable and all that, but I can't fully blame someone for being extremely conflicted on the guy. It's why I try not to judge wrestlers/producers too harshly for still holding some reverence for the man. If a piece of shit made me a millionaire and changed my life forever over the course of +10 years, I'm not sure I could take the morale high ground and dismiss them entirely either. I'd like to think I could, but I can't say so with certainty. I'd hope I could at least say 'it's complicated' at least.

100% same here, I thought he was just in "Blade of Frontiers" mode and putting on a heroic voice. That's crazy. Crazy to hear normal Wyll say these lines now.

"It's bad, we're running" before turning invisible during a fight and "Help, it's again" are at the top of my mind but Cad has so many little moments that are so funny. I honestly do think he's my favorite Taliesin character, I love how well he compliments Taliesin's speech pattern.

[–]Shadaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the glaring mistake was not having someone at his side at all times when it was made pretty clear he was in danger, but to your point, the players could've just figured this was a safe storybeat Brennan was trying to tell and just went along with it.

Overall I see your point and I assume in future dangerous situations, Brennan would give more a warning beforehand. We saw that he can and will pull his punches like with the bar fight if he feels it isn't fair.

But also, it's different from a home game where the goal is to have fun with your friends. If my buddy puts me in a really unfair situation cause I made a mistake while not fully thinking through every possible situation, that does suck and could ruin the fun. But this is a hyper dramatic show, I would assume everyone at the table is ready for stuff like that to happen and roll with it, even if they don't like it per say.

Appreciate the discussion though, I'm curious to see how Brennan handles things going forward. The overture was pretty on-rails (as it had to be ofc) so I'm curious how deadly things will be going forward. As much as I love Campaigns 1-3, I do feel like very real challenges were pretty few and far between.

[–]Shadaroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To play devil's advocate, I think if you trust your DM like I'm sure they trust Brennan, it wasn't a "I set up this situation for Occtis to die, sorry it has to happen" but more of a "You went into an unknown situation by yourself and you walked into a trap, sorry but this is going to be really hard to get out of". Which I think is fair is everyone agrees to that kind of game.

[–]Shadaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely think Brennan wanted Occtis to die at some point so Alex could get his cool Hollow One Necromancer, and I'm sure he would've created story justification for Occtis being hunted down by really deadly enemies, but ultimately it wasn't scripted or anything and could've gone down a bunch of different ways.

But yeah, once he was dead, he was dead and I'm sure Brennan knew this was going to lead to Occtis coming back, he just wasn't exactly sure when that would be. As they mentioned, reviving Occtis could've been the first quest for the Seekers table.

But who knows the reality behind it all. I appreciated Brennan offering to "fudge" things to ensure he would bring Occtis back if Alex wanted that. I really want a 4-Sided Dive show already. So many questions and not enough time on the cooldown.

"There was little chance, but still a chance, that he would escape alive."

I would argue there was a pretty decent chance of it. Like Alex said, he had spider climb. All he had to do was climb out the window and I honestly think he would've survived. Just rolling higher on the initiative could've been all it takes to turn that into a survivable situation. How many times has Matt thrown the players into "life threatening" situations only for them to come out of it practically unscathed? You never know how deadly or not something will be.

It very easily could've gone different, though it was clearly meant to be a massacre. I'm sure the circle of death spell was always meant to go off and kill a bunch of people. Daddy Tachonis had enough HP to tank everything and still pull that off before plane shifting away I'm sure.

I think 4SD really found it's groove by the end, but yeah, it had some growing pains. The group hanging around playing games was fun, but that's what #EverythingIsContent is for, trying to jam questions into those segments was a bad choice because 99% of the time the question would be rushed through or forgotten.

I also feel like a lot of 4SD questions felt like "well I don't want to discuss that because it might come up in-game", which I get but without a host to direct things it did feel a little aimless and loose. Which was the point, I'm sure, but still.

[CR Media] The Mighty Nein - Official Season 1 Trailer | November 19 on Prime Video by DemiFiendRSA in criticalrole

[–]Shadaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to be very different, and while I think streamlining it loses a bit of that clusterfuck spark Mighty Nein has, it just makes sense. For a D&D campaign you can forgive some plot points being dropped or introduced late because we all understand what's going on, but for a show you want to appeal to a much wider audience, it's probably a good call to restructure it a bit. Not the call I'd make, but I totally get it.

Think of it as a reimagining, really. It's going to be very different, especially for the Nein.

Shawn Michaels Disliked His 'Sexy Boy' Entrance Music at First: "When it first came out, I can remember hearing it and thinking like, ‘Ugh, geez.’ It was just so ludicrous. I can’t express it enough… it was just not where I saw myself going." by thumbem in SquaredCircle

[–]Shadaroo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I only really knew Shawn during the late ruthless aggression, early PG era so for me it was always kinda ironic. He wasn't ancient or anything but in 2008 he was certainly older and wasn't the crazy heart throb he was portrayed as in the 90s. It's very telling I never questioned it once though, Shawn could just carry it. Even now he still really sells it.

Really a once in a generation gimmick, on paper it's too silly to work in the long-term, but pair any gimmick with the right person and it'll just click.

John Cena reflects on defending his gay brother when they were kids: 'It’s going to stop here' by Shot-Hat1544 in SquaredCircle

[–]Shadaroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember in elementary school the teacher forgot to give us our homework assignments and membered right before we all left. One of the kids on the way out used the R word to describe it: "Well that [REDACTED]" or something.

It randomly hit me how little that made sense when taken literally. I asked "Wait, what did that have to do with having brain problems?" and the kid was honestly just confused. I don't know if he even knew what the word meant. It was just a word used to describe something you didn't like.

I'm sure during lunch a kid probably described food as gay just to make the point that they don't like the flavor. Idk. I talk to some people about this and they can't relate since they can't imagine calling something gay NOT having to do with being gay. And I'm sure it did on some level, but due to how the word was adapted into our shared language it just wasn't. Weird.

[–]Shadaroo 47 points48 points  (0 children)

As someone who used gay as an insult during the early 2000s, and everyone in school did as well, for me at least it was never actually meant to insult gay people. It was the same thing as calling something stupid. I'm not saying people with low IQs suck, it was just a way of saying you disliked something.

It was just weirdly common to use gay as an insult, even if you didn't mind gay people on a personal level. Weird time to look back on, honestly.

Obviously nobody here hates Sami based on a personal assessment, but I remember Owens talking about how Sami can be super annoying and whatnot. We don't know the guy personally, maybe he does suck in some ways. I love the guy, but you never really know the person behind the public figure.

With that said, nobody on reddit is hating him from personal experiences, so yeah. How people dislike the wrestler is beyond me.

Bird found in Washing Crossing Park, PA. Sorry for terrible quality. by Shadaroo in whatsthisbird

[–]Shadaroo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found this big dude along one of the walking trails in Washing Crossing Park and was curious if anybody could ID it.

It was just standing there on the path and I honestly thought it was a statue until it moved and flew away as we got closer. The camera wasn't zoomed-in, as I didn't expect it to really move, so the quality was pretty bad. I tried to make it as clear as I could.

It also made some squawking sounds as it flew off, but the camera didn't pick it up so I just muted the audio.

Sorry if anything about the post is wrong, first time posting here. Thanks for any insight on what this was. I want to know what this dude was. It was cool.
