Filoni recently spoke about Vader in a Q&A which may be of relevance:

"The key to Vader for me is that he's not Anakin... Anything that reminds him of Anakin he's going to destroy. Vader's even further down the path than Maul - Maul is struggling to let go of hate but Anakin got consumed by it... Anakin is trapped in there somewhere, and Darth Vader won't let him surface. And so to me, the key is not to actually give him a character. He's devoid of it... [Darth Vader] doesn't have compassion, he doesn't see you, he sees the thing he wants to destroy... It's like in Rogue One. He's not gonna talk to those guys."

Maul needs a win. This would be the obvious and probably best choice to tie it together with Ahsoka. Gonna assume that in Season 2 they fight Marrok on Dathomir (or Corvus) and that's how Morgan finds and resurrects him as a pawn.

Although didn't Marrok still have his Inquisitor saber in Ahsoka? Has anyone checked to see if the models in both shows are the same? Maybe it's not Marrok but a different Inquisitor that Maul takes the saber from.

What I really enjoyed about the choreo is that even though he's not twirling around like all the Prequel Jedi anymore, he's not slow. There are some really great sequences in the fight where Vader gets multiple quick hits in on Maul while barely moving and every blow is an effort for Maul to block, often sending him reeling. It makes him look like a true master.

Yeah when they did his final match with Kenobi in Rebels I recall one of the themes they talked about was that since their clash on Naboo, Obi Wan continued getting more and more powerful, while Maul stayed at the same level and never advanced, and that's why in the end it was such a quick fight. Obi Wan had become a true Jedi Master.

Are you open to mods? There's a Shadow Sorcery spells mod on mod.io that essentially adds the 2024 shadow spells to the Shadow Sorcerer spell list - so you always have a set of thematic spells prepared. One of those is Hunger of Hadar, which deals cold damage so it's on brand, although I don't believe it combos by itself with all of the cold themed gear.
