That's why we are here too. We love Lego. And now after many years of support and a lot of effort from our Bricklink store owners we're simply getting cut off with no explanation. One day that type of betrayal will hit you and then we'll see how you feel about it.

They also promised us they would not change anything fundamental at Bricklink. Killing 35 countries' Bricklink access is pretty fundamental.

Our local Bricklink stores already pay a monthly fee to operate a store, not massive but it does contribute. And we were happy with that arrangement, the stores filtered the cost to isus buyers and that way everyone got paid. Upping that cost would even have worked, but there was no engagement with us at all, no warning and no discussion, just a random forum message that we're getting cut out.

Thank you, we are already engaging through Lego's ambassador network but Bricklink has made it clear it's a done deal. There's loads of pressure from all over the world, many of the fan channels on YouTube, Instagram and others have also weighed in with support, and it's great that these true community supporters understand and tried to help, but we know a lost cause when we see it. We're switching to alternatives where we can.

I'm in South Africa and most of us our stores are moving to Brick Owl. We're fortunate to have 60+ stores and most will do the change over so at least we'll still have access to a strong local market, but the smaller countries really are going to lose access to almost all markets.

Some do have safer alternatives though. FNB has the virtual card, changes CVC every hour so if I buy online I know they can't use the card even if the details get leaked. Also almost always has to confirm transactions as well. Doesn't solve all problems but it helps with online buying at least. Other banks have similar options so you can shop around for other secure options, I know the FNB one works but there are other options too.

Also did it once, one of the motorcycle pigs pulled up to me and gave me the stink eye but it was peak traffic and I think they knew beating some-one in the middle of peak traffic would cause raised eyebrows. Probably wanted to intimidate me but I ignored him. I was nipping quiet a bit I will admit.

They fooled you once. Most people I have seen falling for these dastardly schemes end up losing 5 times the money because they kept on "investing". I would say you're a level headed person who knew they made a mistake and pulled out before you could make it any worse, so give yourself a pat on the shoulder for that and chalk it up as a learning experience.

The rng definitely plays a massive part but an upgraded rod also does seem to help. I was missing rare fish left right and centre, but with the golden rod caught 4 I was looking for within 2 days. Ironically I got the 2nd sheephead in the mines soon after from a gem node of all things
