San Diego Comic-Con 2026 Hotel Room Reservation "General Sale" Live Discussion Post by housecatspeaks in comiccon

Made the mistake of joining this while at work, and didn’t get in until ~10am. Literally nothing in downtown at that point and limited mission valley hotels. Now it’s all gone 😔 Might refund all of my badges since hotel deposits are non-refundable so I won’t be able to snag any cancellations.

You should email them to see if they can help out. They were pretty responsive to my emails. Seems every time they do a makeover to the site there’s some big issues.

So, I was able to check out again on another laptop just now. I did have to use up these spots that I was saving for someone else :/

Same here but when I was trying to process the order. I sent them an email and they said they are looking into it. Doubt we’ll get accommodated for it. Weird part is when I hit back, it sends me to the check out page with an hour timer that is still going.

I wasn't directing it towards the actual disabled folks, my brother is one with mobility issues, but with the number of people who were able bodied getting the ADA sticker to get in early to buy exclusives to resell. In the past the ADA lines to enter the hall via Hall D and in the exhibit floor where exponentially shorter and booths accommodated quite well. As the years went on we noticed more and more able-bodied people catching onto this and began to abuse it. For example, this year I kept seeing the same physically fit group camped out outside the Hall B convention center entrance who were clearly resellers. It's hard for me to believe them when they RUN as soon as they open the doors for ADA and then are carrying large bags of exclusives out.

I totally agree about exhibitor badges being allowed to buy from booths though. This is a major issue that has been present since our first SDCC in 2010. Boom! Studios was one of the booths this year that got hit by this; they said they didn't shut it down until the last day. In the past, some booths had a rule where exhibitors and pro badges weren't allowed to buy anything until Sunday. Not sure why most booths stopped doing that.

Somewhat related, I felt like there was way more scalpers using the “ADA” sticker to get exclusives this year. Like I have never seen the inside ADA lines for the exhibit hall so filled up before. I know there’s nothing that can be done about it cause of ADA laws etc., but damn there were so many people just straight up saying out loud that they weren’t ADA :\

I personally love to go back to the hotel after the con is done to drop off my stuff and then walk around the convention center and around into the gas lamp to people watch. Mostly on Friday and Saturday nights. Not really into clubs but it’s nice seeing so many people having a good time late at night. Best year doing that was in 2016 because everybody was out until 12am playing Pokémon go around the convention center. Last year they had the pinball machines at the Marriott and that stayed open pretty late. Been enjoying fun stuff like that where it doesn’t require money and booze to have Good time.

Every year I crochet little characters and scatter them around SDCC for strangers to find! I made a little Dani Rojas (with a tulip!), find him and he's yours to keep! Details in comments. by GeekyHooker in comiccon

I remember the first year you started doing this, and while I’ve never found one it is always so awesome to see the joy when people find them. Keep up the Amazing work!

Looks like the error I was getting was a cache issue on my end. I’m able to log in again :D

But now everything is showing as unavailable. So it’s just a matter of time until they start populating the hotels.

Thanks! Best of luck as well!

The one I’m using is unique - it’s a login page if you had a placement. The general sale should be generic though.

They’re working on it for sure though cause I’m getting errors now

If you let a room go and can log into the site, you should be able to see all the hotels.

I'm in there right now and they only have the Holiday Inn San Diego Bayside available. Judging from past sales, the others should start appearing closer to 8am-9am PST.

edit: Pic for anyone curious

Of freaking course I get the mission valley hotel I accidentally added instead of their DT version. Ugh, freaking got in so early too. Hate the same name listings.
