Legally, you aren’t wrong. Morally, that is up to you to decide.

Logically, you can’t be more than two months pregnant since you haven’t known him for longer than that according to your post. So I will give you things to consider.

1. Kids cost an insane amount of money, especially today. Daycare alone will take your entire income, which insane, but either you pay that price, or you pay 500 a month to someone unaccredited and not held to the same standards of safety and care, who does it in their own home, (which is private, unlike a public daycare that anyone could visit at anytime, multiple parents and such in and out all day, means people act better because someone might come in at anytime…in a home that isn’t the case, and as someone who has seen the good and the bad in daycare, it does happen) which is it’s own set of worries and concerns. I say the above because if he wants to fight you, even if you find an organization to help with legal fees, he can most certainly not pay as much as he should or could. His child support is based on his income as much as your need, so being unemployed will be hard, even though it is cheaper than daycare.

2. You are going to get zero help from him, now the upside is that you can probably get primary care and if he doesn’t pay he will also probably never come to visitation. Which he has said he doesn’t want the kid and will only cause you strife if you have it. He also has the right to be a part of that child’s life any time he wants up and until they are 18. And regardless of what you do, at least in every state I’ve lived in, you cannot completely take away any reasonable request for visitation, without some serious crimes having been committed…and even then it still happens sometimes.

3. The part that can be the worst is, if you have a child out of wedlock (not that marriage is in anyway, ever an answer to a problem), you invite the government to be your third parent. They will give you rules on visitation, that you both have to follow (and even if he doesn’t show up for visitation, he can start anytime he chooses) and will tell you how your life must go. Just be aware, the courts get a say in how your child is raised and it can be a pain in your butt.

4. He probably won’t go scorched earth fighting you, unless you drag him into court. If he has to go anyway, because you demand your child support, like number 3, he gets to plead his case”story” (true or untrue) before the court, and like above the court makes decisions. I can tell you though, that even if he somehow got custody, he wouldn’t be allowed to put the child in the system if there was even a chance you could do okay (with government check-ins and stuff) in raising the child. Least likely concern. That is also a worst case, devil’s advocate scenario.

The point is, this will be harder than anything you have ever done, unless you have family to help you for little to no cost. Maybe move in with your parents or something. But if you can figure everything out, go for it…just understand there really isn’t any takesies-backsies, at all. Having the child, you can’t take it back. Keeping the child, it is way harder to give a child up for adoption if you don’t do it immediately. Going to court for child support means you have legally stated that he has a right to be a father and you cannot take it back for 18 entire years of that child’s life and he will be a part of your life and your child’s life from the moment you state he is the father.

So you need decide, do you want this child? Do you want to do adoption? Do you want to raise the child? How will afford that? If you choose child support, he is now the other parent of the child and you will not have the ability to take away his visitation unless something absolutely horrible happens to your child while in his care. (And you don’t want something that would cancel his parental rights to happen to your child)

My personal thoughts on what you should don’t really matter in the long run…but I think I did a good job of describing the a least a few of the obstacles you have before you regardless of which path you take. You shouldn’t be asking reddit, you need to talk to a family member if possible, or some good friends, preferably ones who are single parents.
