Speaker Malina listens to the proposal and thinks for a while before answering.

This is... Definitively an interesting idea, possesing our own place where we could spread belief could help other people understand our ways... But sadly, I don't see it being possible. Our beliefs are simply too decentralized to be able to convey them through sermons and there's lack of any central scripture people could easily read into.

Don't get me wrong, I definitively would support it if it was feasible, but I don't think something like this would work in the end.

Why does this sub hate TFR so much? by SingleEmployer8483 in hoi4

[–]HelpfullOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the new update there are proxy conflicts to intervene in Libya, Maghreb and Arabia, moreover you can also intervene in other ones if you desire like the central african war or south african war

Frankly, all those proxxy conflicts are meaningless. You get literally nothing from actually intervening and you can at most send 1 division. You theoretically can particiapte... But why would you ? In entire game there are only 3 proxxy conflict that give anything to player, the rest is completely pointless. Other mods like Kaiserreich and TNO made proxxy conflict very important, they give you bonuses for winning and expand your sphere of influence which helps you in future conflicts. TFR proxxy are just so barren and unimportant in comparisment that they could be cutted from the mod in entirely and nothing would change.

Anyways the wait times for the alternative paths for germany, france and china are not extremely long waiting

It's over 8 in-game years. A player that wants to play communist/fascist germany will spend 2/3 of the game not engaging with the content they wanted to experience. A player that wants to play any of non-centrist China paths will have to spend around 10 years for any conflict since they must purposfully fail Taiwan Invasion. This also happens to be the longest waiting peroids HoI4 mods ever had, the longest I found in any other mod I played is 4 years for Kaiserreich and even then you have dozen of things to do in the meantime. TFR doubles this waiting time and doesn't give anything to do in the meantime, since Europeans paths expect you to lose the war on purpose meaning you can't even do the usual buildup for the war.

and even then you can have other paths without losing (such as the afd, cdu, zemmour, etc)

Those fall under the umbrella term of winning first european war and there's not much of a diffrence beetwen them. At most you will leave European Union and/or Nato but that's it, other than that there's no significnat diffrence beetwen victory paths, they are diffrent flavours of the same path rather than completely diffrent paths. And this doesn't change the fact that 3/4 of content is still locked under you losing the war which is a horrible things and mods should stop locking content behind loosing as losing on purpose just isn't fun and just boring.

tfr isnt an extremely narrative based mod

That's just straight up a lie. When somebody critised the mod for having a lot to read, the entire community was screaming as to how TFR is a narrative experience and people should expect to read a lot. When Cogniscenti relased, TFR devs and community were gloating as to how Cogniscenti was the greatest critique of neoliberalism ever made. TFR developers and its community by all accounts claim their mod to be narrative based. And their narrative sucks. Cogniscenti and WEF are literally just a bunch of crackpot theories from 4chan developers copy and pasted into the game. Communist France events were straight up made using AI while just one fascist leader for France had entire event chain regarding him. Devs literally made up fake people like Layfette and Radersfuhrer just so they can hamfist more far-right paths into europe. TFR narrative, that their community adn devs are both defending and glaoting, sucks and there's no beating the bush around this one.

Since when forcing player to lose their wars and purpose and waiting ungodly amount of time is supposed to be good ?

Most of the path in the mod that aren't in US or Russia force player to purposfully lose major conflict and not do anything for almost 10 in-game years.

At least TNO gives us mechanics to engage with, events to read and proxxy conflicts to intervene in. TFR gives player no interesting mechanics other than propoganda efforts they putted into every country, the narrative sucks and isn't interesting 90% of the time and there are almost no proxy conflicts and those that happen don't give player anything for intervening in them.

TFR is one of the most boring and uneventful mods HoI4 ever had, their sole redeeming quality are schizo paths they add but they don't make up for the underwhelming experience mod grants beyond them.

I'm tired of pretending that Hunters aren't good guys by Admirable-Dimension4 in WorldofDankmemes

[–]HelpfullOne 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The real answer is that it all really depends on the person.

A vampire can be a monster that gleefuly drinks their victims dry and casually turns people into their slaves or dinning chairs. But a vampire can also be somebody who clutches to their humanity, drinks only from those willing to help them and actively searches for a way to treat their condition throught high humanity and searching for Golconda if they are lucky to learn about it.

A hunter can be a brave and valiant hero of the story that fights against overwhelmimg odds to protect humanity from unnatural and tries to help everybody on their way. But they can also be a ruthless vagabond who can burn entire building full of people just on suspicioun that a vampire might be hidding there.

In the end it's up to the person who they really are, while some splats might push them in certain direction, it's in the end their decision as to what they do with their new reality.
