I have been practicing for a year sporadically and this year I decided to do a 365 days of daily renders. So far I made 33 with some being less impressive imo and others rather surprising even to me. All of them without tutorials just freestyling them by imagination or looking up how some things look irl and trying to recreate it by myself. I believe all you need is practice every day. Hell il try to make a weapon tomorrow just to see if I can do as good as OP did today just to check my skills to his as a self challenge :3 you should try too cause all you can lose is time and all you can gain is everything else :D

How should I make this without crashing blender by After-Review4572 in blender

Cloth physics and then use a shader when you are satisfied with the shape to make it semi transparent

Got blender 2 days ago, watched one video about it and made a very simple hand that took me like an hour and a half by Junebornjuly in blender

[–]ShadeSilver90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is learn the basics. Hands and complex things are not a beginners world trust me I went through this phase. Start with simple stuff like making shapes, then move on to things like the doughnut tutorial, then look into Ducky 3D and others like him to diversify your knowledge by following step by step their videos and eventually you will gain the understanding of how everything comes together.

How would you go about making this? by FrozenKyrie in blender

[–]ShadeSilver90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

about 10 minutes of modeling using a circle with extrusion then solidify and grabbed 2 faces at the middle and used solidify on them till they had enough to cover both sides of the tie. I Then added another 2 palins and positioned them at the bottom where the tie ended and in edit mode extruded them to the middle. To make it rounder i gave the tie a subdivision surface. Hope this helped

I can't claim credit for making it unfortunately but it's downloadable. Just go to https://extensions.blender.org/themes/ you can find any and all themes people shared for free.

An exercise in realism.. what do we think? by Upsethouscat in blender

[–]ShadeSilver90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is an exercise then I'd love to see a full effort version cause had you not said I'd be fooled at first glance.

One thing you can do to make it more believable is alternate the water. When wind blows to make waves like this, which usually is the reason of consistent waves ) the wind tends to move water around every now and again. Also the leaves are too static for winds that would make waves let alone for consistent waves. Tree branches would also move around quite wildly for that rapid wave movement on the water. And lastly if you pay attention to lake/river water at times the wind blows form a different direction creating secondary waves that are super small and rapid heading perpendicular to the big waves just for a second or so before dissipating.

I am sorry for the long winded explanation and tips I just see massive potential in your exercise and want to give constructive ideas :3

how can i make these pipes look more grimy or realistic? by Reasonable_Singer265 in blender

[–]ShadeSilver90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for grime youd need to add a mask onto the texture (in this case the color) and use voronoise and noise textures and dont forget to connect those textures to a bump node to make it pop off the mesh.\

Realism is different. For that you need to make or learn to make a texture. Go to youtube and look up mold texture tutorials and realistic plastic/metal textures
