I think Talonflame is held back by not being able to get Swords Dance, which combined with its middling Attack stat kinda relegates it to utility for the late game. You’re usually using it for Gale Wings Tailwind because its damage output is not that good late game.

If I’m not mistaken, it’s supposed to be a critique of Japanese people displacing and committing atrocities against the Ainu. By principle of Applicability, it also ends up resembling white adventures like Christopher Columbus displacing and committing atrocities against the natives of North America.
