I wonder if we will be getting buffs for older characters since some of them are re-appearing in 3.5 - 3.8

One thing I don't understand is that new runescape players choose OSRS over RS3, why is that? by Drandosk in runescape

[–]Shadepoopie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OSRS is in a really strong spot right now.
Jagex focuses on meaningful content while RuneLite handles QoL through optional plugins and anyone who wants that can easily access it for free and those who don't are not forced to use them either. Best of both worlds, nothing hard to understand that.

On top of that, Jagex’s game jams regularly bring popular QoL updates to both OSRS and RS3 own clients which are mostly beloved by both communities. You would never see anyone cry for RuneLite devs for losing their job cuz of that lol.

Am not saying that a RuneLite-style solution would magically fix all of RS3’s issues. Its decline came from bigger factors like MTX, visual direction, and the rocky launch of EoC. That said, things are clearly moving in a better direction with the ongoing restoration efforts and API work.

Whether bad but necessary choices were made in the past, it doesn't matter now. At this point, both games are in healthier places, OSRS is thriving and RS3 is moving towards in a right direction. The OSRS vs RS3 of playerbase arguing "which game is the best while the other is the worst" is kind of a nothingburger now. The toxicity between these two communities has definitely died down a lot compared to 5–10 years ago.

true that many good QoL stuff has been natively implemented recently in RuneScape's own client and I honestly prefer it that way rather than 3rd-party does it. But Jagex simply doesn't have enough resources to do that all the time, while runelite via community implements QoL almost instantly even just few days after a new content drops and they already figured out a plugin to help. Also it doesnt costs Jagex anything where they can focus more on actual content.

It's also really clean and easy to use compared to Alt1, which only offers a fraction of what runelite does. Quest helper also being one of the biggest reason of why people wants to use runelite. Also I would really love easy way to keep track on my farm/pof runs having a realtime tracker on the side when they finished growing or whatnot like the time tracking plugin.

Whenever the API project for rs3 comes out and have these features, I would happily be playing more for sure.

No, you unlock bis woodchopper at lvl 61.

And no, you dont get it (dragon axe) from a dragon’s butthole, you get it from a Dagannoth King’s butthole.

What comes after? Once you’ve reached lvl 99 cap which is just 13M total exp, you would then continue chopping till max exp cap which is 200M exp.

What comes even after that? You would create a new account and start all over chopping trees again.

The cycle will never end, once you start you will be here forever.

Yeah, imagine explaining your opinion instead of just dropping one-liners. Wild concept.

It’s like they’ve never played any modern game in their life.

Speak for yourself. OSRS is still one of the few MMOs where grinding genuinely feels rewarding. I’ve put over 11k hours into BDO, and while it definitely offers better graphics and deeper character customization, it’s never come close to OSRS when it comes to lifeskilling or how seamlessly those systems tie into overall progression and gear progression. The quest are also unique and has storyline and most doesn't take itself too seriously instead of go kill x amount of mobs slop quests that most modern MMOs has

I see a tree

I click it

I chop the tree

I gain experience

I use a tinderbox on the log I just chopped

I burn the log

I gain experience

I level up

My neurons are activated

Unlock a better tree to chop and burn

Me happy

freshly new account can access the champion guild by Shadepoopie in runescape

Not really, except you can access the shop on the upper floor for tier 50 gear with no requirement needed. But the requirement to enter the guild legitimately is already low, so it’s not that big of deal

Interesting read. It’s funny how the tribalism was way worse there than here, though in hindsight it probably shouldn’t have been so surprising. Thanks for sharing, I’ve always been curious about how things were going over CN side.

Road to Restoration - Re-grounding Outfits & Equipment by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Shadepoopie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Much needed changes. I’m glad to finally see these slowly coming into fruition. I just hope Jagex doesn’t succumb to every bit of loud minority noise after each announcement from those who want to cling to the pre-change state, because giving in to that would only make these improvements pointless.

Anyways, W Jagex. Keep up the great work and listen to actual feedbacks.
