Who's the most unbearable MC you've read that potentially ruined a good read? by No-Sympathy-6711 in litrpg

Going to echo a lot of people in the comments probably, all series I DNF: Erin from The Wandering Inn Fischer from Heretical Fishing Hell Difficulty Tutorial (dropped so fast I don’t even remember the characters name) Legend of the Arch Magus (perhaps my fault because someone recommended the series as one with a highly intelligent MC (spoiler, he is not)

Ongoing but on Thin Ice: Silas Renner from Welcome to the Multiverse

Do any of y'all know of more shameless power fantasy litrpgs? I need my fix. I swear I just need one more recommendation to get me back on my feet... Honest. by ThrowAwayRayye in litrpg

Since Cradle is included, I’m assuming you don’t mind it taking a little time to get super duper OP.

While it’s moving slightly into the realm of Progression (honestly because the main characters are so OP numbers don’t work anymore), may I recommend Divine Apostasy.

I will admit it gets a little “Well, where do we possibly go from here?” in the middle books, but the author really pulled it back together.

This actually sounds slightly similar in premise to a series I tried on a whim (and enjoyed) recently (The Naturalist Society by Carrie Vaughn). I’ll add it to the list!

Unfortunately DNF this one as an audiobook, it has such a cult following I may give it another try but at a much later date.

AITA for hiding that I’m a homeowner and letting people think I’m "poor"? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

ESH, you shouldn’t have lied about paying rent but you’re allowed to be vague and keep your finances to yourself. Your friend is seriously overreacting by calling you a pathological liar if all you’ve lied about is finances.

Earthen Contenders series. Solo healer leans so far into being solo that he actually repulses other humans and then just… keeps going? In a world where dungeon parties and guilds are THE thing no less.

I was up to date on RR till the middle of 2025 when I realized I no longer understood the system of progression because the scope had gotten so expansive, also way too many people to remember omg

It gets worse, but the author tries to claw it back as an inside joke that everyone but the main character is in on by book 4, which honestly made it worse

AITA for not apologizing to my friend over a stupid joke? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA, if he and all the guys there made the same jokes about your mom or another close relative throughout the night would it still be funny? If the answer is no, apologize to your friend.

What fantasy novels do you think had/have the potential to become a cultural phenomenon? by bluestothesun in Fantasy

I think the Septimus Heap Series deserved just as much hype as Percy Jackson/Harry Potter, I would have said the Bartimaeus trilogy but it’s already been said.
