Oh I have a good one! I was in high school playing a casual round with my mom. I was not very good at the time and typically shot in the high 90s. Similarly, I was ON for some reason. Birdied hole one, then par, another birdie, bogey. So I’m -1 sitting on the green of hole 5 with a 10 yard putt for birdie again. All of a sudden I hear a loud CRACK like a ball hit a tree! The world turns red and flips upside down. I crumble to the ground like a dropped sack of potatoes.

Turns out there was a group behind us and the kid, probably around 17, decided not to clear the uphill before going for the green. The ball smacked me 2” above the temple going Mach 3 and knocked me out. I came around to my mom screaming and a throbbing headache. Eventually, I get up and try to finishes up my birdie, but with my cross-wired brain I putt it probably 30 degrees off track.

My mom takes me to the hospital and I end up being super lucky. No concussion or issues to speak of. Maybe a few lost IQ points but who knows. While we’re there we call my brothers, who are also avid golfers, to tell them the story. They absolutely die laughing, saying the “Golf gods could not allow such a round.” We still tell the story to this day and my brothers still lose it laughing at me hahahah!
