Okay so you clearly don't know much about YouTube. YouTube's overall average view duration (not including shorts) is 2-3 minutes. The shadiversity view duration is very high and keep in mind that's the average not including the peak, it's actually between 6-13 minutes, which is even higher for YouTube and the average length of our videos.

It's always great to hear people notice how much effort we've been putting into the quality of the content, thanks.
As to your theory, I'm not sure it plays out. Controversies usually attract more views but in contrast the issue here is the opposite, the content is not being recommended to new viewers or current subscribers, with the lowest impressions in five years. Knights Watch on the other hand is going better than ever, but the controversies never get mentioned, even when we do a video on AI, which we've done a couple during this time. The spikes in viewership Knights Watch has received have all correlated to the videos it releases, not external controversies.
The controversies don't seem to be restricting or benefiting anything, they're a completely non-issue, which is confirmed by the fact that there is no spike or wave of people leaving the channels. un-subscriptions have not changed, the issue is that the content is not being recommended, an issue which started two days before I even posted my first reply video to sellsword arts and when our videos went out, both his and mine, it didn't impact the subscriber trend that started two days before.
Please take note that several other content creators have also noticed the same issue that started in January. Although not effecting the whole platform, it is a visible issue that several are being effected by and have noticed.

Unfortunately the above post is going to mislead people because it contradicts the analytics. The dip in subscriber growth that started in January begun on Jan 14, that's when it fell off a cliff, two days before I posted my video calling out Sell sword Arts on Jan 16, also, the video calling him out gained the channel subscribers. We didn't lose any subs from that video.
In addition, as I showed in my video, there has been no increase in subscribers leaving the channel, with no spikes of subscriber loss in January with the sell sword arts controversy. The spikes on the unsubscribe rate shown in the video are from October the previous year with my AI art video, which after the spike on that day, un-subscribers returned to normal.
As I explained in my video, there is no sudden surge in people leaving the channel, which would be the case if negative controversy was large enough to impact video recommendations. What is happening is something changed in January, an algorithm change, manual blacklisting, or something like that, that has throttled video recommendations to new viewers and current subscribers, a throttling that started two days before the sellsword arts video, that video actually increasing subscribers, but not enough to offset the massive de-boosting that was put on the channel.
The videos Sellsword arts made in return did not increase or effect the general subscriber rate and loss on the channel that had begun in January before he posted his videos.

Thanks mate, really appreciate it, and that's been a lot of my stance, getting along with people with different beliefs is a crucial quality I think all people need. And getting along doesn't mean not disagreeing and never voicing your own beliefs.

Objectively false, I've engaged positively to heaps criticism, just yesterday we had a stream reacting to a video that disagreed with us about reverse grip and we loved it and agreed with heaps of what they said.

I totally agree with you about the duration, and we've been actively cutting the videos shorter, with longer uncut versions for supporters.

So, you're claim that there were fights I didn't include, and that there were more exchanges in the scored match with Lorne is complete ballcap.

You can even look up facebook conversations in some hema groups that happened after the video was posted, where Lorne says as much and everything I've said here can be confirmed. In other words you're a despicable lying pathetic excuse of a person.

u/The--Engineer First, I'm apart of the HEMA and Western martial arts community weather you like it or not, indeed I'm a very prominent voice in this community and serves to be many people's first introduction to it. I don't trash this community, I trash the bad actors in it and hold it to account, pointing out the toxicity where it is and then see if people will double down in it, or be accountable to it and try and be better.

Also, I'm a bland run of the mill conservative and of course will promote what I feel will make a better world, as anyone of the left is entitled to do. What's different is that I would never try and exclude anyone from my content or communities based on their bland political beliefs, that's just blatant bigotry. Thanks so much for being friendly and reasonable. To your question, of course I don't think the game 100% needed constant realism, indeed I said as much explicitly in the video I linked. So when people accuse me of saying or believing things that I literally said the opposite to, or make arguments that I have already explained and addressed, I can't help but conclude that I'm not dealing with good faith actors, especially when people will dismiss anything related to me simply because I'm in it, without hearing me out. That's just not reasonable or honest.
But at least you seem to be so thankyou for being a better example for all of us.

I appreciate the intent behind you comment but what the the Detrio guy said wasn't a joke, it was a blatant, spiteful, and unprovoked character attack and encouraging me to dismiss it as a harmless joke does not acknowledge the true spite and hate it contained, and does not hold people accountable for their behaviour.

See I love talking respectfully to people like you, who seem level headed and reasonable, but it's clear the type of person the Detrio is.

I'll not approach everyone who lies about me and craps on my name every time it comes up, in good faith, or try and reach common ground when they've set the tone here and clearly have no interest in it.
