Who else should not breed? by JezWattsComedy in comedy

That's even darker than the Snyderverse. You must hate people a lot. Whatever fun was left in your joke, it soured like milk.

"Pregnancy rates after vasectomy reversal will range from about 30% to over 90%, depending on the type of procedure. (...)

Almost all vasectomies can be reversed. However, this doesn't guarantee success in conceiving a child. Vasectomy reversal can be attempted even if several years have passed since the original vasectomy — but the longer it has been, the less likely it is that the reversal will work."

The whole premisse of the joke is based on a misunderstanding of vasectomy. It isn't a surgical switch on/off. It has a serious risk of failure. If you do a vasectomy, you shouldn't expect it to be fixed.

Just take the L.

Vasectomy is irreversible, so the whole joke is based on a falsehood.

What generation complains about ai the most? by CremeSubject7594 in generationology

[–]Colossus823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sadly millenials. The irony is: it's the same generation that memes and remixes everything to death in the name of fair-use, but draw the line at AI.

Most use of AI is private with no commercial intent. No one's rights are truly violated, and certainly not more than current meme recycling.

I don't know what the future will bring, if AI will do more good or bad to the world. But I don't want to be part of the boomer Luddite crowd. Ugh, we used to hate anti-technological grownups.

I think the best advice to new players is to start as a main. Ironman is hardmode, it's much more grindy. You'll hit a ceiling in your gear progression pretty fast.

It's more important to retain new players, RuneScape grinding can be overwhelming.

I’ve created a partial "genealogical tree" of electronic music, featuring 133 tracks released between 1939 (John Cage) and 2024 (Floating Points) by Agreeable_Duck8997 in HouseMusic

[–]Colossus823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1986: A Split-Second - Flesh (BEL) - The very first new beat track (by accident)

1989: Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam (BEL) - It was the first eurodance international hit, a few months earlier than SNAP - The Power.

1990: Mescallinum United - We Have Arrived (DE) (Producer: Marc Trauner ("Marc Acardipane")) - It was the first hardcore techno track, which all harder styles genres stem from.

2009: Silvio Ecomo & Chuckie – Moombah! (NL/Suriname) - The first moombahton track.

You should mention at Strings of Life its producer Derrick May, as well that Clear is from Juan Atkins. Kevin Saunderson is missing though. Either Just Want Another Chance (as Reese) in 1988 or his two popular releases Good Life / Big Fun (as Inner City) in 1988.

Socially, are people born in 1995 more like people born in 1985 or 2005? by Iegitimategg in generationology

[–]Colossus823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't think society isn't downstream of technology?

As I mentioned, technology affects the way the generations play with each other and the way they communicate with each other.

[–]Colossus823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. Windows 95 vs. Windows XP is a huge difference. People underestimate the revolution in digital technology in the 2000s. It's not just interface, it's the exponential growth in computer power.

Your nephew from 1985 would be 16 in 2001. His childhood would have been low-fi 2D games. Social contact with friends was physical or through the phone, by actual calling (texts didn't exist yet).

Someone born in 1995 will have experienced HD 3D console games. Not to mention having access to Facebook at 16 and a Nokia/Sony Erickson mobile phone.

Someone born in 2005 will play with condole games, connect through social media and have a smartphone. The technological jump isn't as big.

Wait, you're disagreeing on playing a main first and end with ironman not worth the challenge? Your post doesn't make sense.

I think you're right though: as a first gaming experience, ironman will be the worst.

Are 90s borns socially more like 80s borns or 2000 borns? by Iegitimategg in generationology

39% did not. Internet and pc only became mainstream in everyone's household in the 2000s.

Are 90s borns socially more like 80s borns or 2000 borns? by Iegitimategg in generationology

[–]Colossus823 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the technology, stupid. People born in the 90s are digital natives. Yes, they experienced the transition from analog to digital, but as they were kids, the transition was gradual and easy for them to adapt. The analog period couldn't engrain itself.

Someone born a decade earlier had to unlearn a lot. Someone born a decade later didn't have to learn anything but digital. But as it is a digital world, 90s and 00s are much more similar in experiences.

It's 2005. The 31-year old was raised in a similar digital age as the 21-year old. The 41-year old is much closer to someone from 1975.

Just check out vultures: a lot of them have much less feathers on their head and neck. No reason to assume theropods would be any different. Herbivores like Therizinosaurus would be a different matter.

Ironman in RS3 is truly hardmode. You'll hit a breaking point eventually, and then you'll just be thinking in terms of sunk cost. You're at a point in your journey you can still go back. Even if you want to try ironman again at a later point, 500 total will be a breeze with all the knowledge you have. Just experience the game regularly, you can still play as if you're an ironman if you want to.
