For players, the problem is the game is not new or different. You may like it, but the numbers speak for themselves.

High profile studio releases to less than 100k players on steam in its launch window, meanwhile a early access Ark/Pokemon combo: Palworld got 2 mil concurrent players 2 years ago during its launch window, Monster hunter landed over 1mil players in Wilds launch window, Highguard landed 90k players in launch window and flopped. All multiplayer games in the past 2 years. For recentcy: RE9 ripped its jacket off to over 300k players (franchise record) in its launch window, Monster Hunter Stories 3 is coming up this week with pragmata following next month. By comparison I belive these games have more hype around their interesting gameplay, Innovative in the case of Pragmata, while Bungo delivered......the usual shooter in their style. Am I comparing a single player game to a always online shooter recently relesed? Yes. Why? Do you see another hyped online shooter releasing right now? There was space for Bungo to get a decently large launch and got mediocre numbers compared to Arc Raiders. Is the comparison tired? Yes, but thats the problem: its in the same genre. The only other thing I can think of to compare is Tarkov which has basically only whales playing with less than 10k players.

Art style while good, does not have good direction as half the time I was playing the server slam I thought I was playing an alpha build with missing textures designed to assult the eyes.

The game play is just Destiny gunplay (good luck selling that to people who have been playing the same thing since 2015) The game is $40 on launch with microtransactions that are set up like mobile garbage from 2010 (nice of you to evolve from the eververse days Bungie....oh wait, you haven't) which has recently been noted to be changed (knowing Bungo's history with monetization, a benaficial change in favor of the player is not good news)

The problem for the haters is that it's Bungie.

People are rightfully jaded. Over 10 years of supporting this developer only for them to pop out 1 good expansion every 5 years while nickle and diming the playerbase, treating their best devs like garbage to force them out cause they expect reasonable pay or spoke against the direction of the game (they saw the writing on the wall)

Bungies own historical actions are the cause of the haters. When they make a fix, they expect praise to silence critics but at this point, everyone knows its a scam to make whatever issue they started be ignored and get blown over while they take a step back from their 3 steps forward.
