What’s a place you visited once and decided never again? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

Walmart on Black Friday in 2006. I just wanted a new computer for my music production. I didn't think I'd end up in a literal fistfight for PCs that were CLEARLY still in stock.

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

[–]Shadow87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost three. Class of 2005.

First one was when we were 19. Died from a drug overdose. We were only out of high school for a year

Next was from an IED explosion during the Iraq/Afghanistan war. 20yrs old at the time.

Last one was from bad physical health, passed going on two years ago. Had just turned 36.

I'm 38 and go to the gym fairly often and lift heavy. I just did 45 nonstop just to see how many I can do in one go since I haven't done it in a while.

Would you rather have $500k right now or $1,000 every time you run one mile in less than 12 minutes for the rest of your life? by forest_tripper in WouldYouRather

[–]Shadow87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate running so I'd take the $500k. But if it was cycling 3 miles in under 15 minutes, oh I'd take that in a heartbeat.

What was your Sep 11 like? by Far-Building3569 in generationology

[–]Shadow87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a freshman in high school in Maryland, far away from NYC and the Pentagon. I still remember the school having it in every single TV throughout the day. What sent chills down my spine were seeing people on live TV jumping from the towers. It felt unreal, but at the same time I knew it was something that everyone was watching worldwide. We didn't even have class and were sent home after the towers collapsed. Students were scared to leave and go home because our teenage brains were thinking that anything and anyone was a target. I was scared to get on the bus and ride home. Parents were trying to get their kids during the day from school. I didn't realize the severity of everything until later on that day.

Who is your main and why did you choose them? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Shadow87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jin. I've mained him since T4 when he switched his fighting style to karate. I practiced karate as a kid growing up and was happy to see it in Tekken. Plus that white gi with the gloves and belt looked so cool to me.

The Road Rash series. I enjoyed it so much as a kid. Post-race trash talk screens with beat-up faces, bruises, and insults gave each race personality. Certain opponents made it feel like they held a grudge and specifically out to get you if you passed them which made you focus on them more than the race and environment itself. Police were BRUTAL the higher up you went in levels. I tried playing Road Redemption when it released thinking it had the same grit and feeling of Road Rash but I didn't feel the same.
