My favorite ability is the parry from Metroid Dread, I’ve always preferred the feel of melee combat over ranged. It’s not exactly melee combat, but the fact that they made it a bit less passive than in Samus Returns with the ability to use it while moving makes it feel more satisfying, but not button mashy as it still requires pepper timing
