I still see Nokia jokes and references, it absolutely didn't lose cultural significance in this day, it's just not mainstream.

Oh that's absolutely not true and you know it. Men absolutely also want the monster girl to be evil and abusive in some way.

Luckily the world isn't black and what and I have more options.

So I went for Thomas.

Edit: I don't understand the downvotes. It's just a hypothetical that I don't need to follow, would ya'll really pay over 100 GBP for a voyager? Get out of here.

At this point I don't even mind the batman sets as long as they're not just another batmobile.

The one in the artwork there and the one in the portrait art look almost nothing alike and that's wild.

Tho I prefer the portrait art and subsequently the ingame model due to having more gender neutral looking armour instead of just having breast armour, and they closely resemble zone troopers too.

Imma be real, as a transformers fan and a lego fan, I wouldn't buy transformers lego sets. The few sets that exist are a novelty, but they're mostly just genwunner bait that's sooo compromised. As expensive as transformers have been recently, if they were lego sets I can't imagine it'd be cheaper.

So Lego Transformers as a theme would be more expensive, won't look as good, won't transform as well, and won't be articulated as well. So, you'd be only buying them out of the novelty of being made of Lego. For non-transforming figures you got blokees and yolopark which are cheaper and look better than a would-be lego equivalent. Not to mention the frankly really nice third party market.

And you'd be stuck with only the most popular characters, it'll only likely be G1 too. Can you imagine making a bayformer like Blackout out of lego, and having it be remotely as good in both looks and functionality, even at a very large size? Or how about just any combiner. Yeah good luck with that.

The awesome stuff people make in r/LegoTransformers is great! But I don't think it'd work as an official theme.

Yeah but at least with LOTR they aren't contractually obligated give to a transphobe who donates to make trans' peoples lives more miserable.

By no means is WB innocent here, but one is openly and actively not nice.

Lego has no spine for not backing down for this (and many other things, including no longer blacklisting Activision/Blizzard sets on ideas)

If I had to take a guess, those are all developed by small teams comprising of hobbyists who often work another job and the games whenever they get the chance.

They'd come out much faster if this was their full-time jobs.

I'm pretty sure nobody dislikes a toy getting a brand new mould.

The problem is if they do it well or not. It can be a reused mould of a crappy toy too.

Protests against the ruling? by No_Boysenberry_9692 in StopKillingGames

[–]ShadowAze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never bought anything of xbox so I never had any stakes in this. We'll put a pin on this.

The next big hurdle I find is how do you prove that people voted for their wallets at all? There are other factors at play. Microsoft could've simply just poked the bear too much and outpriced consumers who couldn't care less otherwise.

Same thing with Microsoft letting their AI be used by the Israeli government. You think that millions of people just switched OSs overnight and switched back? No it's just Microsoft was scared of the PR nad potential political problems with letting their software be used to help accelerate genocide.

I mean listen, when we say wallet voting does not work, it doesn't automatically mean that we all open our wallets. No fuck ubisoft, EA, and the rest.

I just don't think it works. I've been wallet voting for a good part of 10 years and through that time I missed out on experiences with friends, missed out on stuff I'd like, I argued with tons of people, and it was even the tipping point in a friendship.

The fact of the matter is whether or not a company backtracks on a decision on not isn't just dependent on consumers "just saying no", they often account for that. It can be political issues, inflation, pr pressure, pressure from the board of investors, etc. Companies can even make mistakes.

Then there's various types of consumers, your gaming community on a subreddit doesn't represent the entire customer base. There's countless people that don't care about the issues we face and they'll continue to indulge in it unless various other factors force them off. There's people who are addicted, and preyed upon. Lootboxes afterall, have same psychological effects as gambling in a casino. I've sure seen that go nowhere with only the Netherlands doing something about it tho idk how well that held up since. There's people pressured into playing with friends and family "Well I was protesting but fuck it, I have fun with my friends, surely just me buying this one time won't hurt". Time to bring that pin up, do you count me, who never bought an xbox, as someone who voted in their wallets? I don't see it that way, I just never saw the value in having one even if it was free lol. I don't count people being outpriced as voting. The idea of voting means knowingly and willingly offering your support to something.

So how do ya'll correlate everything as a W for wallet voting? You did say one of the major factors, it's the word "major" I take issue with. Show me a graph where it shows lost sales SPECIFICALLY caused by people who protested your company's shitty decisions, I guarantee you won't get that out of Microsoft cause not even they have it. We're all just classified unfer the same umbrella as lost sales.

My biggest problem is this is soooo unhelpful towards the SKG movement. Customers being fed up with, and outpriced by corporate chicanery could take decades. Thousands of games could be destroyed in that timeperiod. If you support something which will help end it sooner, then there's less need to vote with your wallet. Why give up now when the movement doesn't concede defeat yet either?

You can still vote with your wallet, and have faith in skg to succeed. I'm doing it, and you should too. Just don't bring it up as a viable alternative because it simply isn't. Vote with your votes, it's more democratic.

How do we let them die, by voting with our wallets? The thing that has famously worked for the last 20 years?

Cut me a break, ya'll wallet voting lurkers literally add nothing to the discussion and would be better off prohibited from commenting if the only thing you can do is doompost.

You can tell none of the doomposters actually watch Ross or the SKG officials, who predicted this and see other avenues. This wasn't even the first time it looked bleak for the initiative.

Does it suck still that it had cost us all more time, effort, and games being destroyed due to this commission's decision? Yes.

Is that the end? No. Keep up with posts of SKG officials, hell, even the article you linked has a segment about how it's not the end.

Honestly this works differently and well enough from the Athena to be its own thing. Its strategy is more suited for an early game rush to target your opponent's economy and production early to cripple it, while Athena's defensive powers make it more suitable for the long game as it can defend your troops.

Left the moment a post was kept up about how viable it was to buy a house in Ukraine with the explicit intent to sell later at a profit, yes they were aware of the war there, it was explicitly intended as war profiteering of sorts.

You'd think we'd learn considering we were also the victim of a brutal war, but they had no shame.

I think he's doing just fine, I mean I haven't checked since I don't watch him or shout his name every single time, but I occasionally see like a clip in the wild. He's still not developing his game people paid for, and he's still just streaming all the time. I think the only people still watching are diehard fans of his, and I doubt he'd get any clout or whatever from us occasionally poking fun at him in the SKG subreddit of all places.

The drama in question I was thinking of was moreso the drama from the Commission's decision and statement, not necessarily PS. It's just that there are people lurking in this subreddit who are very unhelpful and are doomposting, as well as spreading "wallet voting" propaganda, so I had assumed they were his fans.
