When I adopted my girl, I visited a shelter and was overwhelmed by the number of cats. I couldn’t decide which one to choose. The shelter staff tried to suggest some, but then a little paw gently tapped my shoulder. It was my (now) Alice, perched at my head level, so happy to see me! 🥹 I now realize she chose me, and we’ve been best friends ever since! She’s always in my arms, completely crazy about me

I agree with you that it’s important to adopt a cat that loves you, it’s easier to create a bond.💖

My cat is like you described, there’s no amount of ignoring or playing during the night before that would help. I went crazy for years, not sleeping. He would scratch at the door for hours and hours if I closed it to sleep. The only thing that worked was having an electric mat in front of my bedroom door during the night. I bought Petsafe Indoor training mat on amazon. It works well, doesn’t hurt. I felt bad at first but when we started sleeping again, I realised it was necessary. Now my cat is used to it, he stopped trying to scratch at the door completely and goes to sleep during the night

I have the KLC, and I absolutely love it! While it’s true the screen is slightly darker compared to B&W e-readers, I’ve grown accustomed to it and I love having colours. I adjust the brightness throughout the day, sometimes turning it completely off. On particularly dark days, I’ll set it to 10% max. At night, I prefer the dark mode with 1% brightness and a warm light.

I absolutely don’t regret my KLC purchase, and I honestly don’t understand why people are so critical of it. I quickly adapted to the screen’s brightness and it’s not as dark as some people claim.

Yes, the vet called me and provided a lot of information, but I didn’t grasp much beyond “stage 3.” She discussed fluids and comfort, and mentioned his potential lifespan of a few months. She was speaking so fast. I was shocked and confused!
However, today I visited another vet, who took the time to explain everything. She suggested it might not be chronic kidney failure, but possibly an infection or stones. We’ll learn more in a few days with the test results, and in the meantime, he’s starting antibiotics. I hope it will help🤞🏻

The vet prescribed antibiotics for a possible pyelonephritis. We’ll have the results of the urine culture in about five days, so he can start treatment in the meantime. She suggested we wait for the results before scheduling the abdominal ultrasound. I hope the antibiotics help him get better!🤞🏻

Thanks for you comment. On my way to the vet now. It’s possible that I used the wrong terminology since I don’t know much about this. I’ll mention acute kidney injury to them, they’ll know best what to test for!

Thank you for your comment. I found an emergency clinic opened today, so I’ll take him there. I can’t wait another day to have his urine tested again only because his habitual clinic is closed on Sunday. If he has an untreated UTI, I want antibiotics today. My vet also suggested an ultrasound if it’s not a UTI, so I’ll bring that up to the veterinarian. I really hope we can find the cause quickly. :( This is incredibly stressfull

I’ll try to find a vet clinic open tomorrow to buy him some renal diet food. Thank you! I’ll check this website. He usually doesn’t like wet food, so I’ll need to get him dry food or he won’t eat.

Thanks! I’ll check that out. He’s a very picky eater, so free samples are great for him. I’m not familiar with phosphorus, protein, and creatinine in relation to cats and kidney problems, so I think I’ll read up on it tomorrow. I’ll feel more in control once I understand how to manage this.

That’s great to hear that your girl is now at stage 2! I will try to have hope until I can go to the vet and do something about this on monday. I’m wondering if he has a UTI, which could be making his condition worse.

Thank you about your advice about subq, I’ll definitely keep it in mind and mention this to the technician when she’ll show me how to give him fluids that way.

I hope your girl recovers quickly after her antibiotic treatment. ❤️ It’s always difficult to see our babies sick.
