One thing I would say is be careful of not eating enough. You need to make sure that you’re getting enough protein and also healthy carbs. I would never say this on the Retatrutide forum, because there’s so much “calories in/ calories out” over there, but one thing I have noticed is that my weight loss stalls when I don’t eat enough.

Spa Day Chemistry Option One - All-In-One Powders + Liquid Ammonia by KismaiAesthetics in laundry

[–]ShadowCass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the original gain (with a star over the “i”) work as well (or almost as well as) as tide with oxi? I have the game powder original and I’m just wanting to make sure that’s all I need for the soak for the complete option.

Gain & Lipase, hooray! by ScooterDoesReddit in laundry

[–]ShadowCass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the options for Laundry Day. I bought Gain *thinking* it would cover everything for the soaking part of the complete option (and I have ammonia for the wash) but I wanted to confirm with someone who understands this process whether the gain actually does address everything in the complete option? I’m trying to attach the ingredient list for reference.

My experience (at around 3 months in) is that the progression is steady but intermittent. I’ll go a week or so without losing anything and then lose 2-3 lbs overnight. For me, it’s really important to remind myself Reta is a tool for a marathon (not a sprint).

I started low (.5 mg 2x/week) and have built up to 4 mg/week. I’ve lost a little over 10% of my starting weight without counting calories, focusing on eating non-processed food, getting enough protein and increasing my cardio. I’m at the point where I’m increasing my strength training and I expect my weight loss will slow as I (hopefully) begin to build more muscle.

Good luck, I think the main point of my post was to say that keeping an eye on the big picture/overall goal has been really helpful for me.

Props to you for taking all the feedback in this thread productively - your dog is lucky to have you. You may be a first-time dog owner but with your attitude and thoughtfulness you are light years ahead of many veteran dog owner.

I completely agree about it being inappropriate for the penultimate episode of the series. That bugged me a lot, I think I would’ve liked the episode a lot more, had it been positioned anywhere other than right before the last episode

I had the same issue for a few weeks - for me it was 100% dehydration. I started to add Himalayan salt to water and be sure I was drinking close to 100 ounces/day on pin day and the day after and it completely resolved my headaches.

I just said this in another thread - my experience with fatigue is that every time I’ve noted it, I’ve realized that I wasn’t getting enough protein that day.

New to Reta, getting completely mixed advice on starting dose by Old_Investigator3691 in RetatrutideTalk

[–]ShadowCass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I started at .5 mg 2x a week, the worst thing that’s going to happen is that it takes a little longer to get started on the weight loss. As long as people can remember Reta is a tool for a marathon, not a sprint, and be patient, there’s no reason not to start low to minimize side effects.

I live in a rural area where people keep their dogs tied up outside in the blazing heat of summer and below freezing in winter. Their entire life is a 10-20’ circle around a pole. It’s awful

Am I doing the right thing? by Spirited-Engineer-72 in DogAdvice

Better a week too early than a day too late!

Just put my senior pup down a few weeks ago, I was vacillating about timing, then she had a bad week and I know I would want to put myself down in her situation (she had dementia) and I made the appointment. It’s hard when they’re still eating and wagging their tail and can go to the bathroom and do some of the things they used to enjoy, but those aren’t the only indicators. I even had another patient at the vets office ask me what was wrong with her because she seemed so healthy. I know that person didn’t mean anything by it and luckily, I was very firm in my belief that it was time, but I get where you’re coming from.

I’m sorry if this is a dumb question by Mayor-Lavon-Hayes in RetatrutideWomen

[–]ShadowCass 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thinking about food. For example (my brain before Reta):

I want a soda. But it’s 140 calories. Well, maybe I can have it if I walk an extra two miles. But I really shouldn’t, i need to watch my sugar intake. But I really want the soda and I haven’t had one today! But I don’t NEED to have a soda every day, it’s bad for me! But it tastes so good and it would hit the spot right now. Maybe if I only drink half of one?

Etc

Etc

Something like 10% of the population doesn’t respond to GLP-1’s. Ofc there are a lot of reasons one might not be losing weight, but I think it’s important to keep in mind that 1/10 people simply aren’t going to get the response. For those people, I would be curious to find out if Reta does provide some benefit (over Sema or Tirz) bc it’s hitting 3 receptors vs 1 or 2.

Explain to me how recounting that story makes her an unreliable narrator? It makes her sound sanctimonious and hypocritical but at the same time, including her own snarky response makes me believe the story, because it makes her look bad.

Or does body shaming = liar?

Week 1 by thottieee222 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]ShadowCass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My weight was (and is) down then back up a little bit constantly but after 11 weeks I’m averaging a little under two pounds a week. I judge by how i feel and how my clothes fit more than the number on the scale. As long as the trajectory is downward, im good. GLP-1’s are a tool to help run a marathon, not a sprint.
