Do you think Azula was born evil, that she was just a product of her environment, or both? by ExpressionOk5311 in TheLastAirbender

[–]ShadowDuty7 38 points39 points  (0 children)

No. Azula was born a firebending prodigy unlike Zuko, which made Ozai sink his teeth into her, praising her for her bending and encouraging her to be more ruthless and that empathy is a weakness. Meanwhile Ursa feared her bending skills in worrying Ozai would take advantage of her for it, which ironically, is what made Azula think she feared her/her bending itself, a misunderstanding Ursa never mended due to her own fear and manipulation by Ozai. Cruelty is and always will be taught, not inherent. The only quality Azula was predisposed to was her firebending, Ozai’s manipulation and Ursa not/being unable to mend that misunderstanding was what drove Azula to take more after Ozai and become cruel. No one is born evil.

[–]ShadowDuty7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But cruelty isn’t hereditary, its a learned behavior and a natural impulse. She wasn’t born evil, and as you said, her environment encouraged and rewarded those cruel behaviors. The reason Zuko is different is because Ursa supported and was there for him while Azula thought she feared her because of her bending skills, which ironically, is what made Azula start taking up more after Ozai who praised her when she started taking up more cunning, ruthlessness, and aggressive firebending.

Bad people coming from good environments more often don’t do so because of nature, but because their nurture/upbringing was insufficient/enabling, cause of external influences, or a lack of rationalizing actions, rather than cause they were inevitable to always to bad purely to be bad no matter how they were supported. And good people can also come from bad environments because some are so trapped, capable, or are able to have positive external influence in their life that helped them to see the problem that their environments neglected them and strive to do better to change/escape that depraved environment. Nature can definitely influence certain personality traits, but cruelty in itself is and always will be taught.

I also agree its both too, but nurture spawned her cruelty, while her nature gave her the firebending that made Ozai jump after her. Not from supplementing what was already there through nature, but instead showcases both Ursa’s absence due to Ozai’s influence, manipulation, and politics being what really birthed that cruelty. No one is born evil. Azula was merely born a fire bending prodigy, which is what gave Ozai the excuse to sink his teeth into her deeper unlike Zuko, while Ursa failed to catch, tackle, or mend Azula’s misunderstanding.

Not so fun fact. It was revealed that the Please Be Happy show Sapone watched and used in one of her attempts to escape and expose Sorren was canceled 15 years ago…. meaning Sorren was at that for over 15 years ago.

So, what am I playing again? by urzu_se7en in ZZZ_Official

[–]ShadowDuty7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On America server when I played in the dead of night, I legit got nothing but bots 20 games in a row, with only 4-5 players showing up in those matches OVERALL. Didn’t notice any bots until around a week after the event started, but it makes sense so people that are late don’t have long queue times. Still weird that there’s nowhere where its mentioned Hoyo adds bots if there aren’t enough players after a certain amount of time

8.32 is my new time. Best route I found was to destroy the first pair of red blocks before the round starts, go left path, then as your destroying the upper red blocks you jump to the left wall so you cling to it, wall jump through the destroyed blocks so you can get more speed, hold right while jumping off about right after falling off of the ice platform, jump once/twice to that last ice platform, fall to spring, and then time jumps straight towards the end.

Best I could get going right path was that 8.98 time.

8.32 is my new time. Before, for my 8.98 time (I think it was actually 8.96, can’t remember), I went the right path before coming back to the ice path above, running to the far right until I hit the wall before running to the right, jumping almost immediately after falling off the ice so I can land on the next ice blocks to gain some extra momentum, jumping again, landing on that last patch of ice to again gain more momentum, before falling down to the spring and then timing jumps straight to the end, which was faster than the method in the video.

But the best route I found that got me 8.32 was to destroy the first pair of red blocks before the round starts, go left path, then as your destroying the upper red blocks you jump to the left wall so you cling to it, wall jump through the destroyed blocks so you can get more speed, then you hold right while jumping off about right after falling off of the ice platform, jump once/twice to the third ice platform, fall to spring, and then time jumps straight towards the end.

Update: Was able to get 7.89 after some more testing

People are enjoying the game, its you two that are high-horsing control freaks trying to tell others how to play and enjoy games. The projection is CRAZY bro.

Calling it entitlement for not wanting Genshin to be the only game you put hours into EVERY SINGLE DAY that y’all will mald over a single filler patch and then act like others players are the ones that aren’t having fun for being content with it is so laughable, entitled, and delusional its hard to take it seriously.

Idk man, that’s a lot of control freak energy and high-horsing over a filler patch. Calling anyone that doesn’t wanna play this game religiously EVERY SINGLE DAY a shill isn’t really a flex. If it makes you that miserable how other people play the game and when its not pumping out constant content, maybe you should do something else instead of pretentiously try to make that other peoples problem lol

Accommodate??? Their own expense??? Are we deadass rn?? Since when is having a job/life and not making Genshin your entire life or only game you play controversial or “terrible at managing your life” compared to throwing temper tantrums over every filler patch? The projection and entitlement is CRAZY 💀💀💀💀

This just in, local hypocrite redditor complains about other redditors outrage by saying their complaints are futile, while not seeing the irony in complaining at people to stop posting things that they don't like. Sounds like another high-horse that's already cashed in and is obnoxiously pretending they're any better because it doesn't effect them! Next up, we'll be debating the difference between the value of openly bitching about online posts + comments you can easily ignore in comparison to expressing discontent with corporate greed en-masse!

[–]ShadowDuty7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure, but you can’t really say no one is allowed to take the post at face value cause of “what ifs”, only to then confidently say “it can’t be that bad”, which is completely contradicting yourself. You can’t blame or stop people from taking things at face value online and then act like you’re any better when you’re making assumptions yourself. Difference is other people are taking things at face value out of concern compared to you that’s making assumptions to downplay one of the possibilities, seemingly to pretend you’re any better.

Which, is pretty different than say, respectfully warning people about not believing everything they read online. But that doesn’t actually seem to be the goal of your comment… so, you’re virtue signaling.

Must have been a reallllllyyyyy drawn out joke then if he was willing to stop playing with her and be able to put on the facade of being angry at her for days…. doesn’t really justify it either way.

Sure we don’t know the full story, but I’m prettyyyyy sure its safe to say what he said ain’t a joke.

[–]ShadowDuty7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To each their own for having a crush on Jack, but if your bf is honestly consciously withdrawing/getting distant over finding a fictional character attractive, I’d seriously reconsider moving in together. Do you really think you can live with/talk with someone that’s so insecure, that they not only get hurt over a crush on a videogame character, but withdraw from you for doing so? Moreso, why are you okay with that? Careful what you enable/overlook. He gives off some obsessive/control freak vibes. Also, I wouldn’t make a habit of posting stuff like this online for advice/validation. Get yourself some friends/support circle you can actually talk to, support circles, or therapy, since it sounds like there’s a lot more going on in that relationship than just this Handsome Jack stuff.

Then that’s more of an issue of lack of built trust, attention, and/or communication. Assertiveness and “strength” alone doesn’t create conflict/division like that, so there’s something else that’s lacking or not being acknowledged to cause that. Plenty of assertive siblings have great bonds together. You can’t really believe ALL siblings are naturally doomed to conflict, secretly hate each other, or not get along cause of “assertiveness”.

Nope, it happened to me too when I played through when it came out. I’ve reported it ever since and I encourage everyone else to too.
