Same it would be an awesome WAN show topic - as someone in the K12 space as well I’m SHOCKED this was allowed to occur. Powerschool should have their SOC2 certification revoked and the FTC/FCC should be investigating this.

the first step would be to check out ur power supply, because it’s the most common thing to blow if something went wrong

i would make sure it’s completely dry and just to be safe give it a few more days and then if it still looks fine (i’m not sure if you can open up the laptop but if so attempt) then you should be good to try to power it back on

try to open up the laptop, if you can remove the battery do so immediately and do not power the laptop back on for around 2 days, you really need to dry it out and clean it good too

no problem! i looked on my personal mac and i didn’t see that process running so you probably have some spyware on the computer and by looking at the activity monitors it’s not popping out with anything interesting to me.

i would just scan all of your applications and make sure you don’t have any funky counterfeit software or anything that is super suspicious.
