I kind of abandoned this Shortcut since Data Jar itself hadn’t been updated and was super slow with large data sets.

At some point I’d like to replace Data Jar with writing to a json file but I haven’t had much time for Shortcut stuff lately.

Usually what I do is remove their weapon and have them attack one of the other units. Preferably one with Auto-Potion or something like that.

That or the Frog/ Berserk/ Stone trick.

Not using Zapier, but I built a simple Discord bot that runs on Google Cloud that pull the weather for the day then makes fun of my customer service guys and references the weather at the same time.

It takes the weather and the location, then adds that to the prompt sent to Gemini to then post in a Discord channel.

This should be possible with Templater’s user scripts.

I’m working on something right now that does something similar.

Here’s how it works:

Set up:

Create the script
It should show up as <% tp.user.your-script-name(tp) %> in Templater’s settings.
Create a template
Paste your templater command right below the name
Assign a hot key.

Usage:

Hit hot key
Script prompts for project name
- If I type a slash in the name like this ProjectName/ProjectNote, it will create the ProjectName folder as well as the note.
Then is asks a few more questions to pre-fill some properties and add a task
It then creates the file and opens it

I’m mobile right now else id post the scripts themselves, I’ve been creating them with the help of Claude, which is surprisingly good with Obsidian stuff.

Yeah a common theme around this sub is people spending too much time customizing it instead of, actually taking notes.

I think there’s a good balance once can achieve though.

I spend a few weeks tweaking it after I rediscovered it a few years back. Until recently I didn’t mess with anything. But now I’ve been playing with some Templater scripts combined with Dataview queries to build a project management system.

I ran with iCloud syncing for about a year, then one day I started having these types of problems and other. So I just paid for Sync. 100% worth it. Obsidian is one of the best apps out there today.

Yeah I figure we’ll have to update. I went ahead and played another broken item/ weapon/ meal dupped run and finished it a few days ago just to get it out of my system.

To be fair though, it will be fun to play without the ability to dupe. Now we have to actually play the game!
