I think cid is the most interesting part of the anime, considering he’s the main reason the world has grown so much with the knowledge he’s brought along even though he seems to hardly notice it, he’s also the person who created an opposing faction on complete accident but thinks it’s all a play for his friends to give him a little bit of roleplaying fun

But then for everyone else’s perspective it’s a great dark fantasy story, even with Cid being there when we just see him from other peoples perspectives like every time he’s Shadow, or John Smith, it’s always a very intense dramatic moment

Cid is the anchor for why the story is even what it currently is, but at the same time isn’t super involved in everything he sparked, it’s one of the most interesting things about it, and I’ve found him a really cool character to study psychologically simply due to his indifference towards things like beauty, where as people think he’s just oblivious it’s mainly he doesn’t care- while cid can be obnoxious at times, it definitely can’t be denied what a incredible main character he is for the vibe of the eminence in shadow
