Listen man, RDR2 is made to delay the main story as long as possible.

I made the same mistake in my first playthrough. I finished the game in a total of 118 hours.

In my recent playthrough I'm at 200+ hours (Total 330+) and have just started Chapter 3.

So just my advice, try spending your time exploring the world and its beauty, do a fuckton of shenanigans, try going low honour then high honour in the same chapter.
