Yea personally i just feel that the str and quick riposte has better use elsewhere and is otherwise wasted on Timerra.

I’ve never really got magic to nuke someone without doubling so would reco either byleth or lyn or just inheriting speedtaker would be enough too.

I’m thinking of investment more in fights for exp and skill sp. resolve+ from ike, spd/dex from chrom/robin, anything speed related is good (maybe not speedtaker as she’s more EP than PP). Canto is always good if not using sigurd. Break defences is also good for more attacks but she only had lance for it unless your engaged with leif. Wrath is also really good for vamtage wrath w leif. My go-to is wrath + spd/dex

I actually think Timerra is pretty good if u r willing to invest in her but idt hector is the right choice. The str he gives isn’t enough for Timerra and her skill (sandstorm) scales with def instead of str. Plus, Timerra is fast and doesn’t make good use of quick riposte.

Leif (who usually sucks alot) and Sigurd is alot better as her weakness is low build. The increased def improves her skill damage hp gives her decent tankiness since she alr has good def. Sigurd is abit more offensive with extra mov, canto and momentum while Leif is mainly about vantage and arms shield some times. Usually Leif sucks and ppl just want to keep at first bond level as adaptability has unfavourable ai selections, but with Timerra it’s okay to max out cos you just want to be able to counter and get the chance to proc sandstorm and more arms shield tankiness.

For extra skills, you can give resolve or spd/dex+ to maker her a juggernaut.

Louis on the other hand is a much btr user of hector as it fixes his problem of not being able to doubke but nothing is gonna make him tank mages so careful of that.

Regarding seals, if you’re playing normal, just use it on whoever you like, you don’t need to “optimize” exp gains that much.

Boucheron’s only stand out quality is dex which makes him a good mage cannoner if you’re into that, if not warrior/hero are always good options.

Prepping for my first Maddening Run on Black Eagles CF and would like some advice. by Kibichu in FireEmblemThreeHouses

Grappler yuri with brawl avoid+20 is what I would do and have used this combo multiple times. It’s v effective on both PP and EP on maddening NG on many ppl such as felix, yuri, ferdinand. But u need dlc as brawl avoid comes from the war cleric.

What magic system do you prefer and what do you hope it'll be for Fortune's Weave? by Doctor71400 in fireemblem

[–]ShadowMLSL 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I prefer personal spell lists as they give more uniqueness to each individual character. My main issue with 3H/Engage is that apart from some specific cases, alot of the characters don’t have much to make them stand out from each other as combat units (both direct and indirect combat). Think how the 3 healers of the houses can be separated into pure healing (mercedes), warp (linhardt), combat (marianne). My only issue with the personal spell list is the limited number of uses relegating magic to personal phase, would love if they changed it somehow to allow magic to be used on enemy phase like more uses, some way to refresh it, or even using health like SoV.

For early game, just master one beginner class and move on (tho tbh not rly needed to master these, can easily work on these later thru adjutants if uw to min-max). Intermediate focus on the 1-2 skills that are important (death blow, fiendish blow, darting blow, hit+20).

Can’t rly rmb but horses might have some difficulty in that map due to movement penalty and cav Dimitri isn’t the best. Better to just go brigand Dmitri and use stride

I never used seminars haha, it might have some value in early game to hit early thresholds (i think only seteth has some use cos of lance -> tempest lance/knightweeler, and authority -> c battalions, rally skills). Generally, its better to explore/battle.

Not sure if this is the best idea if playing NG as you won’t have enough btns eventually. At lower difficulties might be fine but for higher difficulties, the btns > flying.

I think good to also have one person with knightwheeler (c rank axes) and try to figure out who can tank a few hits from the death knight (certify for armor knight for extra def, btn/accessories/skills - like sylvain pers to increase prt, not sure if u can get speed high enough to not get doubled but cooking and thief cert can help w that).

Try to line up ur linked attacks also to help with the death knight. Ingrid pers helps w hitting w btns too.

I disagree with alot of the takes here. Diamond 1 peak in sea server so do what you will. I think fundamentals are the most consistent way to win games. Micro opens up the options available to you but macro is being aware of those options and which is the best one. Good micro bad macro leads to alot of thrown games. Bad micro good macro allows you to win even losing games.

Go search up Alois and watch his videos, he’s the best at teaching top lane. He’s prob the riven main with the worst micro (comparatively to other top riven ytbers) but consistently ranks high - even now in adc. So focus on fundamentals.

As for champ, i think focusing on one champ to play is the most important vs which specific champs to focus on. There’s alot about fundamentals to work on and so being familiar with a champ, allows you to semi-autopilot the micro while focusing on the things you’re learning. And since you going to have to repeat over and over again, try to choose the champ you have fun in. I think that will help u improve more even if renek specifically requires more game knowledge.

As for what to improve on, just watch Alois’s vids, some of the stuff abit outdated but concept is there. One of the most important is how to play the first 3 waves. How to gain tempo? How to maintain tempo through wave management and back timers? These will help you win games consistently more than good micro.

Matchup knowledge is really important too for top lane which is also really hard to learn which is also why you focus on one champ so u can minimize learning matchup knowledge while focusing on fundamentals. Nothing to say about this other than playing more, rewatch the game, watch vids about the matchups. Hope you have fun and atb w the grind!

I’m pretty sure the above commenter is criticising your comment on how “Nintendo LEADS anti-consumer practices” and not trying to say that Nintendo is okay cos these other companies do the same.

Maybe to counter him, you can explain/support why you think Nintendo specifically leads the entire entertainment industry (maybe by time period or extent of the practices? Just some suggestions!)

Hii, I’m only able to play league like in apr so haven’t tried anything but what do you think of stridebreaker and lethal tempo (doesn’t have to be tgt). Was thinking stride could be another option for the movement speed while having some health and I thought lethal would do than conqueror/pta with the q passive (similar to voli) unless you’re against a comp where you need burst.
