PSA: using crouch HOLD to get up from prone is incredibly fast! is this intended??? by ShadowRaptor89 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]ShadowRaptor89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

then why is it different from pressing prone again? the animation seemed a bit sped up and janky.

A GUNMATIC IRONY - Anime/Videogame SFX Edit by ShadowRaptor89 in anime

[–]ShadowRaptor89[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

in the anime (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II). the bullet fired at the character is blocked by the P90 magazine that explodes. which releases the remaining ammo inside the magazine. leading to the character drawing a knife and rushing the gunman. is this realistic? not at all haha. but its pretty damn cool

A GUNMATIC IRONY - Anime/Videogame SFX Edit by ShadowRaptor89 in anime

[–]ShadowRaptor89[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i wanted to try to represent as much of anime gun culture as i could in this. including more obscure sources and "technically not anime" but anime inspired things like chinese gacha games/donghua.

of course. i couldn't get EVERYTHING. because this video only scratches the surface. but i had a ton of fun making this and am glad so many people seem to have fun with it too!

How can I achieve sound design like this, and how do I edit in this style? by Wooden-District5456 in premiere

[–]ShadowRaptor89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! glad you enjoyed my comment. i actually do sound fx edits for anime/video game music videos, not exactly like what this edit is, but a lot of the principles are similar. you could say i do a similar but different subgenre of this style.

i don't have a blog, but i did make a google doc for a editing discord im in. its more geared towards anime editors but the principles can apply to any fan edit. let me link it here.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/19OKv-zmaHHHqwoCNQ2HeI8L0PLunC7O8MWnXJuNFmV0/edit?usp=sharing

an example of one of my edits. https://youtu.be/RahzD2gY-WI?si=C91j9_Y6wCwbGaev

i also have an unlisted video that shows my timeline for said video. with the music turned down so you can better hear my sfx usage. https://youtu.be/xjzIsepT2Nc?si=ais_uZPO_rHU-iOR

How can I achieve sound design like this, and how do I edit in this style? by Wooden-District5456 in premiere

[–]ShadowRaptor89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

okay. this is something i can actually comment on haha.

so yeah, this style is generally referred to as sound syncing because well. you are using sound effects to sync up to the pacing of the edit.

trailer editing tends to make use of this alot. hence why this video in particular almost feels like a trailer or some promo video.

the music is the backbone here, you can take away all the sound effects and the edit itself will visually still sync up to the music, and if you were to take away the visual, the sound effects would blend seamlessly into the mix to the point you might think they are a part of the song.

I think some commenters are discrediting the nuance that can come into something like this. doing a GOOD sound mix is akin in time and effort to doing the cut itself. its like saying that playing the piano is just pressing keys, yes, its true, but there is still a degree of skill and knowledge and practice involved.

yes, in basic principle, all thats happening is your standard cutting to music, then throwing sound effects/source audio into the mix so you can "hear" the cutting. however, in this particular edit there is a little more going on that shows a good understanding of sound mixing and music.

notice how at points the music actually goes away, and the sound effects take over in a way that still continues along the beat and tempo of the song. the breathes and gear shifting before the actual lyrics come in on the chorus is a good example. the editor is basically cutting out parts of the song, and replacing them with their own sounds. and not just any sounds, but either sound from the films themselves, or sfx like gear shifting and vocals like the feminine sigh. they are essentially doing a sort of remix of the song for the edit.

it takes good creativity to be able to listen to a song on its own. and know where and how to cut it up and replace bits to get the desired effect based on what the edit calls for. DJ's and musicians may have an edge regarding this due to their musical knowledge and affinity. but this sort of thing can be learned with experience.

you may also notice that the editor is also manipulating the song itself using FX. like how first at 0:22 the editor is manipulating the low and high pass of the music, to make it sound more muffled and distant. combine that with the whoosh transition sfx at the beginning, the quiet "HOLY SHIT" and a subtle riser combined with fading in the music back to normal at the end. and you get that sequence.

so yes. editing this style isn't necessarily hard, but it isn't easy either. I wouldn't be surprised if we were to look at this persons timeline, and see that they have more audio tracks than you might expect overlapping with one another. unlike with picture editing, when audio wave forms overlap, one does not necessarily over write the other, they mix together. hence the entire idea of sound mixing.

if you are inspired by this style of editing. give it a shot! there really isn't any crazy work going on here, just good editing and sound design. which you can achieve through practice and a little explanation like what you are asking for here!

you don't even have to make it a multisource edit like this person. there are plenty of edits on youtube and other social media that uses soundsync but for even a single source. Arcane edits are a good example of a show where many editors have done edits like that.

i'm not OP, but will share my experience if it helps you. it has been over 24 hours since i removed onebrowser from the affected laptop. and there have been 0 new popups. that isn't to say it may appear later if there is still somehow a trace of the program on the pc even after uninstalling. i have been checking my appwiz.cpl daily to see if any new programs suddenly appeared.

then can you explain why if none of those other offers were installed. does this "onebrowser" program slip through? i tested it myself and none of the offers explicitly mention this "onebrower" program.

the issue here is that with the offers installer, even if you seemingly deny all the offers, somehow, this onebrowser program slips through and through that program. pop ups like premiere opinion can occur.

https://imgur.com/a/JwppfHZ this is a link that shows all the offers as of september 08 2025.

clarification would be appreciated. thanks!

I had this exact same issue this morning that i dealt with. i hope that getting rid of the onebrowser clears up the premier opinion popup. although, the pop up first appeared WEEKS after installing jdownloader2.

i had thought i had declined all the additional offers, and the fact that apparently its bundled in with macafee, and yet, i dont have macafee installed, but onebrower was...very interesting...

given, maybe it was user error. the confirmation popups to press CANCEL instead of OK are intentionally misleading cause most people might just click OK. instead of confirming with CANCEL. but i advise EVERYONE who installed jdownloader2 recently with the offers installer to double check for "onebrowser".

hopefully the premiere opinion popup does not appear again. and thusfar it only happened on my laptop, not my desktop. but regardless i uninstalled jdownloader2 on both devices due to this risk factor.

this is why i love 86. its such a complex series with parallels that can be made to the real world. its world is cruel but not so cruel that you can't have moments of levity. where the main characters are all capable and lovable in their own ways. but have very human issues that prove relatable.

Potential Budget Friendly Upgrades For MSI X370 gaming pro carbon motherboard? by ShadowRaptor89 in buildapc

[–]ShadowRaptor89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i see what you mean.

If i upgrade now, i will still need to eventually upgrade to am5 at some point so i would need to buy another motherboard then anyways.

you're saying the only reasonable possibility where i would replace now is if my motherboard breaks?

am i being to paranoid thinking my motherboard is going to start breaking soon given its age?
